You don't see it very often but the HC at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas is set to be named the head coach of UNLV.

Will be interesting to follow; Gorman has been a national power under Sanchez's leadership.

Which game would be the biggest upset among the so-called "consensus picks"

1) AAAA: PR over SJP
2) AAA: CV over Wood
3) AA: Dunmore over SF
4) A: BG over Clairton (not sure this is even the consensus pick)

I'd rank them:

1 PR (most surprising)
3 Dunmore
2 CV
4 BG (least surprising)

Now that the season is over for District 1, who are the early favorites for 2015?

Heard this morning one of the young men who played LB at CV DIED over the weekend. Details aren't released yet. Read kids are taking it hard.

I add my congratulations and good luck to the 2 Eastern Championship Teams. They are talented with depth at all positions, and are well coached. I think they will both bring a championship back to SEPA. Go hawks! Go Vikings!

And thanks, papreps, for your words about Charles Snorweagh in another thread. I've had the opportunity to talk with him and watch him this season. What a fine young man he is. One who is always so positive and appreciative of his teammates. They feel the same way about him. Charles broke the all-time school rushing for a season and for a career.

Pennsbury had a great season. They needed the breaks if they were going to challenge the State Champs, but they kept playing hard when the breaks went the other way. They should be very proud of their accomplishments. They won their league and district, broke the all-time school record for scoring, and made it to the Eastern Championship.

I know my alumni buddies and I are proud of them. Thanks for the memories, Falcons!

Another nail in the football coffin; apparently there are legitimate concerns about the safety of artificial turf and how it is being maintained.

Huck brings up so many good points. Teams like N Penn and Pennsbury, as well as others have huge student bodies as well as beautiful facilities. The problem, the PLC wants to win championships, District One doesn't. It's been 13 years since a 4A championships. The bottom line, coaching, plain and simple. When was the last time a head coach in district one was replaced, at any level, because he didn't win?

This is just my opinion, but Pennsbury doesn't win the championship in District 3, 7, or 11.

Wood by 10? Or is that too low? With Whitehead on the field, Wood has to be careful. It will be interesting to see what impact he can have against a talented Wood team that appears to be playing their best football of the season.

St. Joes Prep played without their best player Reid. Wood played with an injured Cooper missing most of the game . 2 solid TEAMS---- now finish it off in Hershey. Good Luck

The boys from the Prep are a little better than likes of Frankford, North and South. This is awesome!!! Couldn't happen to a better guy.

PHS - I don't think their' offense will win this game; not the offense they've run so far. It makes 2013 Neshaminy look dynamic.

SJP - if PHS makes Clements beat them, PHS has a chance.

"them and Wood will be a good game" you have no clue. Central valley should keep the bus running so they can leave at the half.

Must say every good as advertised. Amazing they only dress 25 sometimes less and still get the results they do.

Wade as a Sophomore is as good as it gets, he does so much so well and will only get better. I now saw whey they say every Big Time school will be arfter him soon.

Guilfoyle better bring a A Game plus or they will get ran from Hershey.

Wilson has been close many times. Their fans must be frustrated, blew a 17-7 lead in the 4th qt.
