What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“So far track isn’t over yet but I have been training speed and working out whenever I can.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I think I have improved on my lateral quickness, but as a team we built our team chemistry.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think this year we’ll do way better than last season. This group of guys, we’ve been playing together as a group since 7th grade and we’re taking our senior year personal.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our toughest game will be against Emmaus, but in conference it will probably be against North Hampton.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I think one individual player will be North Hampton’s running back, he’s good and we just got to contain him this year.”

“Yes, I want to play football in college.”

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“We have been lifting with spring ball practice, I am also doing a couple of linemen skill camps.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“Just my feel of the game in general and being able to recognize what is going on around me.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we are looking at a great season ahead of us.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Probably Mount Lebanon or Central. I have never played Central but when we played Mount Lebanon last year they were a very solid team. Then again, this is a new year and I feel confident in the team going into those games.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I don’t really pay attention to that much hype around players so I wouldn’t know.”

“I would like to, if I can, play football.”

“I believe we have the potential to be one of the best teams in D10 and hopefully win the district championship.”

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“This off-season I have been lifting with a trusted trainer around me. Also I have been throwing weekly for both football and baseball. [I’ve also been] working with different coaches to develop different aspects of my game that need improvement.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I have most improved my overall fundamentals and understanding of the game.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“Our team is young and returning a lot of players from last year. We will be solid and put up a good fight against the other teams in the region.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The toughest team on our schedule will be Meadville. They are returning most of their players and with their current running back core; they will be solid.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“The toughest individual player will be Ethan Knox. We play them first game of the season and he is a quick running back.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“My goal is to play college sports. My top sport would be baseball, but I’m going to work just as hard for both football and baseball.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have personally not been recruited by any colleges. I have had conversations with a few coaches but nothing to a serious extent.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“There is no school that has shown a high recruiting interest at this time.”

“I have visited many schools I am interested in.”

“Yes, I plan to go to multiple schools this year.”

“This summer I have three [camps] planned so far but looking for more. I am going to the UConn Jim Mora camp and Sacred Heart camp on Memorial Day weekend in Connecticut. Then another on June 11 at Pittsburgh University.”

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Stretching is huge for me, especially growing so quickly. However, lots of footwork and strength lifting.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I’ve definitely gotten faster and stronger, I've put on weight while gaining speed which is my goal going into the summer as well.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I’m confident going into next season after a fairly new team bonding and working hard [during] spring ball. We are a young and determined team, and I think we will go deep into the playoffs and make a state run.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Marcus High School, we always have a close, hard-fought game.”

“Not sure if one specific individual will be the most difficult to play against. As long as we stay together as a team and trust the process, I can’t see ourselves being stopped by an individual let alone a team.”

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Other than school workouts, I have been working with my QB trainer JP Tillman, along with getting extra routes and timing in with my guys. I have also been trying to target my flexibility to allow me to be smoother and faster in my play.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I feel I’ve improved on my leadership skills and decision making the most since this past season.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we will do great. We have a tough district, but I feel we are going to go at least three rounds deep in the playoffs (if not all the way).”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The toughest team, I think, will be a close tie between Katy and Paetow.”

“I play QB, so every time I touch the ball, I have to worry about the box players trying to take my head off. The individual I feel I’m going to have the toughest time with is a good friend of mine, David Hicks.”

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“We’ve just finished up spring ball, [it] felt really good to be back in pads again. Before spring we went through boot camp for close to a month. Mat drills, agility drills, competition type stuff. It was fun.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I made the switch from Nose tackle to offensive guard so just getting a full offseason working at my new position has been great. I’ve played o-line in the past but I feel the most comfortable I’ve ever been with the position I’m in right now.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We’ve got a great mix of good returning guys and young studs ready to ball. It’s been a disappointing first couple of years to be honest [and] have not won as many games as we hoped, but I’m fully confident we’ll make the playoffs and make a push for district as well. And once you’re in those playoffs, anything can happen.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our district is probably second toughest at least in DFW. That’s where our biggest competition will come this year. We’ve got some good non-district teams we’ll play ([and] that I’m not sure I can officially name just yet), but schools like Marcus, Lewisville, West. It’ll be tough but definitely possible. And man we want to beat West. We still have a sign up on our wall from last season that says “BEAT WEST”. If I do nothing else my senior year I want to embarrass them at Clark Stadium.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“It’s got to be Ashton Cozart from Marcus. He’ll need to be taken care of, [he is] a scary athlete to go up against.”

Q&A with New Oxford running back Brittyn Eakins

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“During the off-season I was involved with varsity basketball and now track and field. I have really been focusing on my diet and workouts to get ready for my senior year. A lot of targeted weightlifting and agility work. Brett Swopes at Swopes Training in New Oxford has really focused on my stretching and speed.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I feel I have improved mostly on my upper body strength. I am now benching 285 and getting stronger. Another thing I have really improved on is my IQ of the game. I have developed study habits in school which have translated to the film room and field. Another thing I have really improved on is my speed and agility. I feel I am a lot faster and quicker in agility since last year.”

“I feel we have a really good chance at winning our league this coming season. We have lost a few seniors but we have some key returning players that will play a big role. Guys like Eli Ernst, Connor Main, Brennan Holmes, Evan Schreiver and others will play a big part. However, the league is very tough and we have a lot of work to get where we want to be.”

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“During the off-season I was involved with varsity basketball and now track and field. I have really been focusing on my diet and workouts to get ready for my senior year. A lot of targeted weightlifting and agility work. Brett Swopes at Swopes Training in New Oxford has really focused on my stretching and speed.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I feel I have improved mostly on my upper body strength. I am now benching 285 and getting stronger. Another thing I have really improved on is my IQ of the game. I have developed study habits in school which have translated to the film room and field. Another thing I have really improved on is my speed and agility. I feel I am a lot faster and quicker in agility since last year.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
