Q&A with Plano offensive guard Bryce Lagow
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“We’ve just finished up spring ball, [it] felt really good to be back in pads again. Before spring we went through boot camp for close to a month. Mat drills, agility drills, competition type stuff. It was fun.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I made the switch from Nose tackle to offensive guard so just getting a full offseason working at my new position has been great. I’ve played o-line in the past but I feel the most comfortable I’ve ever been with the position I’m in right now.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We’ve got a great mix of good returning guys and young studs ready to ball. It’s been a disappointing first couple of years to be honest [and] have not won as many games as we hoped, but I’m fully confident we’ll make the playoffs and make a push for district as well. And once you’re in those playoffs, anything can happen.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our district is probably second toughest at least in DFW. That’s where our biggest competition will come this year. We’ve got some good non-district teams we’ll play ([and] that I’m not sure I can officially name just yet), but schools like Marcus, Lewisville, West. It’ll be tough but definitely possible. And man we want to beat West. We still have a sign up on our wall from last season that says “BEAT WEST”. If I do nothing else my senior year I want to embarrass them at Clark Stadium.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“It’s got to be Ashton Cozart from Marcus. He’ll need to be taken care of, [he is] a scary athlete to go up against.”
