SOL
Neshaminy 5-0; An offense that’s been dormant for two years at 21 and 24 ppg has awoken to 41ppg with road wins at tough venues vs quality, Pennridge and Downingtown West.
North Penn 5-0; At CB South in their first road game of the year!? Production wise, they’re ahead of last year scoring 37ppg vs 35 but it’s on defense where they’ve shined, improving to 14ppg from 19. At 5-0 CB South Friday.
CB South 5-0; Tough run coming up at home to North Penn, then Neshaminy and CB West away followed by Pennridge at home.
Upper Dublin 4-0; Still undefeated and in good company with other 6As in the district with Ridley, CB South, Perkiomen Valley, Neshaminy and North Penn, getting win #5 this week at Wissahickon.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 4-1; Lost in opener to Souderton then 4 straight.
Pennridge 2-3; Thought here is many teams would have 3 losses playing Perk Val, North Penn and Neshaminy, all undefeated, this early in the season. Have 3 straight homers against CR South, CB West and Tennett where expected wins get them to 5-3. Still an exciting team!
CB East 4-1; Easy slate to date with loss coming to only quality team played, CB South 27-6.
Abington 3-2; Ghosts are galloping on a 3 game tear but Neshaminy is next.
Central
Ridley 5-0; Tough two game run next of 5-0 teams vs Springfield and Marple Newtown.
Garnet Valley 4-1; At Haverford who has won 3 straight with two-3pt losses. Fords should be a tough out
Marple-Newtown 5A 5-0; Get Ridley at home in 2 weeks.
Ches Mont
Coatesville 4-1; Rolling with 4 straight since Cumberland Valley loss, winning by a total score of 143-43.
Downingtown East 4-1; Like Red Raiders, rolling since 23-7 loss to North Penn.
Bishop Shanahan 5A 5-0; At 1-4 Downingtown West is still the toughest team Shanahan has played to date.
Downingtown West 1-4; Seems opening losses to Perk Val 42-41 and Wayne Valley-NJ 34-31 had lasting effects. First home games for Whippets in 3 weeks could inspire.
Rustin 1-4; WOW….Downingtown West AND Rustin both 1-4.
Pioneer
Perkiomen Valley 5-0; Been legit for a couple years now but the word gets out slow from the Pioneer league. Quicker now after beating Haverford School 27-24.
Spring Ford 4-1; Only blemish is a 41-40 double overtime loss at Wilson.
Pottsgrove 4A 3-2; Down some but will likely run out to enter postseason 7-2 with momentum.
Del Val
Academy Park 5A 5-0; Undefeated but here comes the speed of the Del Val with Chester and Glen Mills followed by Penn Wood….then Interboro.
Penn Wood 4-1; Reality check last week losing to Haverford School 48-28.
Interboro 4A 4-1; Inter-Ac kicking Del Val’s butt with Penn Charter blitzing Bucs 28-0.
D12
St. Joseph’s Prep 4-0; Crushing Oaks Christian, Don Bosco Prep and Archbishop Wood says this group is special….if they can keep the focus.
LaSalle 3-2; Competitive losses to North Penn and Malvern Prep may provide dividends downline.
Roman 1-4; 8 and 7-pt road losses to Neshaminy and Springside CHA prevent a 3-2 record. No give up with this group.
Father Judge 3-2; Losses were to Salesianum (2-1) 16-13 and Springside CHA (3-1) 42-28. It might be a mistake writing them off with Sallies playing super quality losing to defending Delaware champ Smyrna who has Delaware commit QB Nolan Henderson and RB Will Knight at +2000ry last year (19 starters back)….and SCHA having great stuff under center in Matt Rahill who had 352 total yards (192p/160r) vs Roman last week, losing only to Blue Mountain (AAAA, D11, 4-1).
Archbishop Ryan 3-2; 3-0 start but fizzled vs Judge and LaSalle the last two weeks with Wood next.
Archbishop Wood 5A 1-3; The Vikings version of Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers, Raheem Blackshear, is probably way too much for the remaining schedule including LaSalle but we’ll see. He was everywhere against Roman, helping them to their first win of the season on offense, from the secondary and on special teams.
Imhotep 4A 4-0; Outscoring Silver Oak Academy, Ben Franklin, Prep Charter and Gratz 212 to 6. At Malvern Prep Friday.
Inter-Ac
The Inter Ac is off to a great start at 17-4, with a few exciting games this weekend.
Malvern Prep 3-1; Beat Gilman last week 21-0, home to Imhotep Charter School Friday. Friars only loss is to St. Augustine Prep-NJ (4-0), 47-30.
Penn Charter 2-0; Beat Interboro last week 28-0, at Lawrenceville School-NJ.
Haverford School 3-1; Beat Penn Wood 48-28 last week, at John Carroll-MD.
Episcopal Academy 4-0; Beat The Hill School last week 23-19, at Blair School-NJ.
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 3-1; Beat Father Judge 42-28 last week, home to The Hill School (2-1). Springside’s loss is to D11’s Blue Mountain, AAAA, 4-1.
Germantown Academy 2-1; Beat Academy of the New Church last week 54-20, at New Hope-Solebury (AAA, 4-0) this week. Loss is to Father Judge in opener 35-14.

Emmaus 5-0; They’re playing like their mascot, a swarm of angry Hornets, outscoring people 261 to 65 for a 52-13 average score. Home to Freedon whose coming off a war with Parkland.
Parkland 4-1; Here’s “the” defense in the EPC-South allowing 7ppg against a tougher schedule than Emmaus has played who they’ll play in the EPC-South final. Get red-hot Whitehall Friday at home
.Whitehall 5A, 3-2; Won last two including at Liberty after a 1-2 start. How did they lose at home to Nazareth?
Liberty 3-2; Looked like “it” after the 3-0 start including ta road win at Parkland, then came consecutive losses to Whitehall at Bethlehem Catholic to wreck that. Let’s see if they recover.
Freedom 3-2; You can’t lose your home games and win a title, especially when it’s to Easton and Parkland. They might be toast now with Emmaus and Whitehall dead ahead, back-to-back on the road and that’s why you have to win those home games then at worst, split with Hornets and Zephyrs.
Easton 2-3; The EPC-South looked like one of the most balanced conferences in the Commonwealth top to bottom before Easton tanked, losing their last two and two of their last three. Probably need to beat Bethlehem Catholic Friday to reach 6-5 (assumes wins vs ES-North, Northampton, Naz) with Phillipsburg (2-1) a toss-up and Emmaus a loss.
Bethlehem Catholic 4A 4-1; Home loss to Emmaus 34-25 but winning all others by average score of 44-7.
Allentown CC 4A 4-1; Big O no D losing opner to Freedom 31-8 then 4 straight by avg score of 54-28.
Stroudsburg 4-1; Trounced by Easton in opener 35-6 then ran off 4 straight but finish hard at Allentown CC and Pleasant Valley with Whitehall sandwiched in between.
Pleasant Valley 4-1; Exciting times up in the EPC-North averaging 44ppg while allowing 28!
Southern Lehigh 5A 3-2; Looks like the best 2 loss team in the Colonial.
Blue Mountain 4A 4-1; Nice win at Springside CHA 21-14 with loss coming to Wyomissing.
D2
Wyoming Valley West 5A 3-2; Can’t handle quality, losing to Delaware Valley 29-13 and at home to Williamsport 35-22.
Delaware Valley 3-2; Opened with 23-7 loss at Downingtown East then lost another tough road game at undefeated North Pocono 27-20. Get undefeated Williamsport home 10/7 with the rest looking winnable.
Hazelton 0-5; They used to play football in Hazelton, good football but not lately with a 16-49 won/loss since 2010 counting this season.
Abington Heights 5A 3-2; The Comets have played good football for a long time up in Clark’s Summit with only 3 losing seasons since 1999. But a big drop off along the lines recently is in part responsible for sub-par back-to-back seasons of 4-6 in 2014 and 5-5 in 2015.
North Pocono 4A 5-0; Looking good but real comp coming from 4-1 Western Wayne and in final against Scranton Prep, also 4-1 for Lackawanna Conference Div-2 honors.
Berwick 4A 3-2; Back-to-back 9-3 season is not the norm in Berwick. Neither is this year’s 3-2 start. Should be 7-2 entering the finale against Williamsport if they get past Wyoming Valley West on the road October 14th.
D4
Williamsport 5-0; Here’s the only 6A in a district loaded with historic powers like Mount Carmel, Southern Columbia, Loyalsock Twp and Selinsgrove. Don’t be surprised if Williamsport makes some noise with 20 starters returning, especially with EPC-South lacking a dominator.
Selinsgrove 4A 3-2; Not their usual selves but still capable, beating Berwick. The Seals last title was in 2009 (AAA) going 16-0, beating Allentown Central Catholic (12-2) 31-10 in the quarterfinals. From there they routed Archbishop Wood (10-3) 28-0 in the semifinal, holding them to 49 yards rushing after losing to them 13-7 the year before. They edged Manheim Central (15-1) in the final, 10-7. That was a super team that allowed just 96 points all year.
