(OIL CITY, PA) Blake Hadley, a Sophomore Quarterback and Safety at Oil City High School in Oil City, PA took his first Varsity snaps last Saturday. In the Junior Varsity game, on Monday, Hadley dominated on the field nearly every time he touched the ball. It seems he's nearly twice as fast as his fellow 10th graders, and what's more impressive - even the Juniors he's playing against. His football sense and composure look that of a seasoned veteran, directing his troops down the battle field. I think this could be the year for New Castle Football. After the best finish in years last year this team may have what it takes to go a long way. They are loaded with good quality seniors featuring their record breaking tailback Kieth Kean. They also feature blue chip Dom Cook and Johnny Fields. These guys already know how to win. They proved it last year. They also have stud ILB's Jordan Izzo and Jesse Ambuster. These guys love to hit. The only downfall to this team is also their best asset in that their supporting cast are all sophomores.

Two of them started last year (Marcus Carter CB and Latrell McKnight DE). Carter is now a two way starter at CB and WR. He is a great athlete. Another late year starter last year was Darrian Rice, another great hitter on D. These guys also have some great speed. But none as fast as RB Justin Fleo who will support Kean this year. Their best future asset and probably their best asset this year is their huge big arm QB John Matarazzo. He is 6'3" and weighs in over 215lbs. For his size he has good speed. His best asset is his arm. He has a strong arm with an accurate lightning quick release. He will be a big time player I think. Coach Bong has done a great job pulling this group of kids together.

This biggest thing this team neads is leadership. When they get that they will be tough. This should be a fun couple of years. Good Luck Boys.
