Prep/St Eds

Preps defense, even without Maxwell Roy, should be able to keep the Hawks in the game. Do they have enough offense to win this game on the road? Who is under center this year for Prep? Dont know much about St Ed's but they do have a game under their belt already heading into this nationally ranked matchup. Any and all insight is appreciated
Offense have the less experience of the team. Still some vets offensively but they lost so much last year. Look them to lean heavily on that run game with that impressive back field. Defense is where they’ll hang their hat. This team collectively may be faster than last year’s team on defense. Roy was a huge lost but they still bring back 3 or 4 power 4 guys. Corners are both young that’s the only position of question. Heard from a few Prep guys that they got after St. John’s last week. Verdict is still out!!!!

Relayer =

I watched the Neshaminy-Emmaus game and I was certainly pleased with what I saw. Still, I wouldn't say the 'Skins appeared (to me) to be world-beaters. They are improved, they are enthused and they are showing solid excitement that I have missed seeing the last few years. But ... I'm not quite ready to anoint them with Holy Water just yet.

It's early in the season (you know). Game 4 with North Penn should tell the tale of the tape.

CB West/Easton

Thanks for the recap Bucks. Did you mention West lost their big OT to injury during the game? Any word on that?
No, I didn't mention it because I haven't heard anything about him yet so I'm not sure if it's a long-term issue or not. (Although it didn't look good) Owen Lucas did go down very early in the game and was replaced by a junior (Bustelo) who is around the same size. (Both approximately 6'3" 275) To clarify, their all-league OT is Finn McGowan, who plays on the right side of the line and is okay. Obviously, when you're undersized up the middle, you don't want to lose any depth from the big bodies that you do have. Fingers crossed that it's not as serious as it first looked.

I'm going to say this was a good football game, not necessarily because it was that well played, as both teams made their share of mistakes, but because it was physical, intense game for 48 minutes. Easton walks away saying a couple plays or calls go their way and they win, and West thinks they win easily if they execute better and clean up the mistakes. Easton is very talented, especially when they get their big receiver back, giving them a pair of studs on the outside to go with two very good backs. They didn't back down from West's physical run game, and as Rover noted, didn't really wear out until the second half of the 4th quarter when West started picking up some bigger chunks on the ground. Easton is going to give teams some matchup problems because you've got to cover sideline to sideline while stopping what should be a very good running game. They also seemed to play a pretty disciplined game. Sometimes a team just needs that one win to get their season going... a tough one coming up though this week.

If you're West, I think you're happy to survive that one, and you can take some positives away: A lot of inexperienced youngsters and some upperclassmen who were stuck behind a good senior class contributed and made an impact. QB showed a lot of promise in his first start with some breakaway speed. On his long run he scores easily if he doesn't bobble the ball. Made a couple of clutch throws when he needed to and seemed to manage the game well. Clemens was unbelievable, making plays all over the field in his first game at LB. (And one of the best open-field tackles I've every seen) Not sure if he'll stay there if other LBs get healthy or if he'll go back to the secondary. Vance Morelli had quite the coming out party with the big pick, TD run and KO return. Just glided down the field on the return, very impressive for someone who was a role player last year. If they can get their speedy receiver McGowan back on the field also, they have him, Morelli, Clemens, Miller (QB) as offensive weapons. Defensively they bent a lot but came up with big plays when needed. They remind me a bit of the 2021 team (9-3) that just seemed to will themselves to wins. Defensive line was very good but the Easton backs were squeezing through some small holes where you expected the West LBs to clean it up. Plenty to work on getting ready for what I'd expect to be an improved Upper Dublin team.

Fletchster brings us back to earth.

I'm thinking should be a better team than the last three years (that's based on some insiders who have said the kids have a very good attitude - a bit more of a scrappy group out there).

Too bad about Carter Clee and that dislocated elbow (sounds like he'll be out for a while). At least Nahsir Moore stepped it up with that 100 plus yard performance. The word is he has some serious speed and it looked like it on those two longer runs he had.

We'll see.
Happy for you Mole, now if CR North can win one Relayer will join the celebration.

2020 - Yes.

NA played a completely different St Francis I believe. From NJ.

It’s gonna be NA and PCC again. Rest don’t matter.
No, the team NA beat came from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore. It's just that PCC played the SFA "national" team while NA played the "regional" team--much the same as the different teams fielded by IMG.
