Penn Live article says Wood is moving up to 6A. Based on "success points" and transfers, the schools appeal to remain at 5A was denied

Southern Columbia’s appeal was granted.

Wood and Farrell were denied appeals, Wilmington and Southern Columbia's appeals were approved. Aliquippa dropped its appeal efforts and will move up.

The PIAA wanted to move St Joe Prep up to 7A, but after a two hour closed door meeting, the board realized there are only 6 classes for football.

That is ridiculous. Why would the PIAA grant this? Absolutely make zero sense

In two years Wood will be able to move down to 4A and the PIAA won't be able to stop them

Well since their moved to 6A they better consider transfers again in a big way in order to compete. The piaa cant penalize them anymore. So Columbia not forced to move up is pretty sad.They should voluntarily move up anyway.
