McDevitt and Cedar Cliff will move to the Mid Penn-Commonwealth with Cumberland Valley, Central Dauphin, Harrisburg, State College, CD East and Altoona next year in a reconfiguration of the conference to four divisions from five. The success formula should advance McD to 5A for next season.
Many 'locals' will like this seeing them back in the Commonwealth playing with the big boys. And some across the state will likely approve of them having to play 'up'.
It sure (edited to say) 'influences' (instead of changes) things with the 6A field perhaps now going to a 12-team field from eight. And it opens up 4A with McD out of the way.
