The CFP championship game
Here's our favorite time of the year, well, one of them….the playoffs, a thing we take to like a duck takes to water. Some say Ohio State looks like a sitting duck, maybe a lame duck, but I'm guessing they'll deliver a good bang for the buck. So while Oregon tries to get their ducks in a row, Ohio State will attempt to show the buck stops here. Oregon coaches can't pass the buck in this one and better duck and cover that sitting duck secondary of theirs before State makes duck soup out of it. So for those looking for a rout, buck up everybody. You know what they say, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it just might be a good football game.
Ok, the serious stuff: Here are some stats from the net on the upcoming game Monday. Things like average total rush and pass yards, offensive and defensive, points for-points against with Red Zone efficiency as well. Also did a fast check of rosters by state. Be interesting seeing how (if?) Coach Meyer can slow things down unless he feels he can win a track meet. The obvious is the tried and true grinding it out approach, keeping Oregon's O on the sidelines. I'd like to see if someone can flip that, keeping Oregon's defense on the field by stopping their offense on consecutive series, an inverse approach to get the Duck's D back on the field after less than 2 minutes rest given how fast the offense sets and goes. OSU has a staff steeped in spread philosophy and a group of athletes that are much more than FSU's bunch if last week's games are any indication. Who knows but it sure looks like a great game. Here's some info. Check it out.
