Easton 28 Emmaus 21

After a penalty, 33 yard TD catch by Frutchey. He finally gets his first catch of the game and it’s a big one. Easton was down 14-0, now up 21-14 after the two point conversion.

Emmaus has two TDs after two long qb runs, including a 74 yard TD on a keeper. Easton has been shutting that down since the first quarter.

Emmaus punter is a monster, had pinned Eastom inside the 5 three times, including a 72 yarder. Kid is going to Cornell I think?

PIAA Approves Girls Flag Football

I’m sure every school has their examples, but the great tragedy of this in Easton is Chanelle Price never got to play sanctioned flag football.

Chanelle set the national high school girls record in the 800, ended up an NCAA runner-up, part of a world record 4x800 relay team, indoor world champion in the 800, and took 5th at Olympic trials. She’s also the most physically imposing 800 runner ever. If you’re making a top 5 Easton athletes ever, she’s in it and she’s not 5.

Her brother was a Big 33 cornerback on the ‘04 Easton team that went to the 4A Eastern Final. Very much a football family, but only had one boy. Easton plays one flag football game a year, against P’Burg the Monday before Thanksgiving, and I think Chanelle averaged 60 yards per catch and scored ten touchdowns. One of the most impressive athletic performances I have ever seen with absolutely no stakes involved. She’d be the Derrick Henry of PA girls flag football if she had a full career.

Wpial 6a 2024

How so? Their best win was last year regular season vs. NA. That's about it. (St. I's last year stunk)

Having said that, it would seem that they are the odds on favorites to win the WPIAL - if Tiger think NA isn't good, they must not be!!!
they blew out Woodland Hills, I would pick them to beat any team but they are capable of losing to any of the other good teams

Ringgold Anticipated AD Job

I'm the Ringgold guy here

the questions you asked are the same questions I ask myself every Friday in the fall since 2018, how could they possibly be this bad? it completely defies logic, over the last few years they were losing games by 6 touchdowns... by the end of the first quarter!!!

one theory I have is they lost kids to neighboring districts like Thomas Jefferson and Belle Vernon, but still it has been 30 years since they had a D1 football player, that doesn't make sense considering the size and demographics of the district

they had the 3rd ranked in the nation cross country runner last year, I don't understand being that fast and running cross country instead of playing football but guess I can't blame him, probably more fun to dominate cross country than get mercy ruled every Friday

Ringgold definitely needs a young hungry guy like you, I think one problem with the AD is they probably are cheap with them just like they are with the teachers which are among the lowest paid around... you get what you pay for

they just aren't committed to it for whatever reason, I mean we had Matt Humbert as head coach and they let him leave because they didn't give him a full time teaching position, they also had the Peters head coach TJ Plack as an assistant and he was planning to leave coaching forever when he left Ringgold

also it's not in the south hills, it's located in Washington County pretty much in the middle of nowhere so you can argue that hurts it too

yes it's true Montana didn't want to come back unless he was paid

oh and two state titles is actually pretty good as most schools have none, but yeah for the most part they really aren't competitive at all in most sports, when they are competitive they aren't exactly contenders

I wonder why all the time but I would say they never had a true program builder in any sport or they were never given the time or resources to build anything
Wow. They let both Humbert AND Plack leave? Or things were so bad that they couldn't wait to leave? That's pretty bad. What's the area like regarding socioeconomic factors? I think it was you who mentioned that you'd like to see them break the record for consecutive losses just to bring some sort of publicity to Ringgold once again. I'm paraphrasing, of course. I've always wanted to inherit a rebuild and lead a positive culture change, but if funds are so tight like you mentioned, then it will be very difficult for any significant change to truly happen.
