I didn't see it live, but on the tape, I got the impression that he was kidding, but he apparently really takes himself that seriously. What a clown.

He was dead serious. He told Beck in a twitter that he should give the award to Beyoncé. It really is amazing that he and his wife are so "in the public eye". Says something about the American public. And not a good thing.
