Ridley 21-7 over Haverford. Half. As discussed early this week , Ridley probably held the ball about 18 minutes and zero punts. First scoring drive was around 10 minutes. Haverford still explosive though. There one scoring drive was about 2 minutes. Ridley close to 250 yards rushing and zero pass attempts

2 quick Haverford scores and all tied at 21.

31-28 final. Ridley. Ridleys lone td in 2nd half came on it’s only pass of the game. Haverford tied the game at 28 with about 8 minutes left , but never got the ball back. Ridley kicked fg with about a minute left , then Haverford muffed the kick off and Ridley recovered.

Ridley not sure if they are in yet ? Apparently Pennridge game tomorrow will have a bearing.

Congrats to Ridley they deserved to win tonight. Hope they get in. Offense is rolling right now. If I was high seed defensive coordinator would not be thrilled to play them.

As for Haverford it was rough night. The same pooch kicfoff six times gave them fits. Fits probably an understatement. It looked like they were fielding a cruise missle. Additionally they never caught a punt. Teams don’t want to kick to #10 so for about 8 weeks they play him and other guy at warning track/Ray Guy depth which ensure they don’t catch it and the opposition gets 20 yard rollout.

Defensively it looked the same as three of last four big game losses. Last year against Garnet and North Penn and this year against Ridley and Garnet they get bludgeoned against real good run games. Ridley threw twice all night. Also had couple timely stops. Think Haverford had 7 possessions. Tackling was poor but whether team is double slot or double tight full house they are vanilla 4-4 team. That hasn’t been effective against real good running football teams. Last year Garnet, playoff game against North Penn and this Ridley game you pretty much knew you weren’t going to get stops.

Offensively they are good. However there seemed to be lack of understanding that each possession was critical given Ridley offense grinding clock. If they ever learn to use middle of field in passing game with posts, digs, shallow crosses they will be ever more explosive. In fairness they dropped two posts. Absolutely still an offense that can go bananas in playoffs.

In actuality match up wise this loss helps. Wake up call. Plus gets them out of Downingtown East matchup which would be horrendous given their running game. Rather take my chances as 11 seed or whatever on road.

Also for all heat Wood and Green took earlier they deserve ton of credit for bringing that team back. They did super job tonight and won the coaching and clock battle. Ridley was the better and hungrier team tonight.

Neshaminy dominated Pennsbury in every phase of the game. Two very good efforts heading into the playoffs. The first round opponent better be wary.
