Prep or LaSalle ,these two appear about equal this coming season. Lasalle with the passing game and prep with a bit of both. Should be a great match up. I was watching the Preps playoff games and was really impressed with the toughness of RB Billups. He sure is pound for pound a beast. I was a bit surprised at his size. He doesnt appear to be more than 165 lbs.Saw this posted on X, could be a 6A state final preview.
If they can't compete with everyone in the state with the number of highly recruited athletes and the overall size they have on that roster then I'm not sure which end is up anymore. If Lasalle is on the same level as SJP, this game won’t be very close
It’s all fake recruiting in my eyes. I’m convinced college coaches just see that a player is from central and gives them an offerIf they can't compete with everyone in the state with the number of highly recruited athletes and the overall size they have on that roster then I'm not sure which end is up anymore.
On paper, it should be very competitive, with PCC having what looks to be an advantage up front (including LBs) and LSCHS having an experienced QB who's played a lot of football. It does look like PCC has a couple of QB candidates coming up. Regardless of what happens it's good for PA football to have this kind of matchup early on.this is a cool match-up, but kinda surprising lasalle agreed to play- esp if they could possibly meet in the state final.
IMO the PCC program is stronger than it was 2-3 years ago, i would be surprised if this is NOT a competitive game- kudos to PCC to finding legit "big school" teams to play 2 years in a row- this is not easy, esp in Western PA
Looks like they have a returning backup who will be a junior and a big sophomore who will be competing for the job.Unless PCC finds a QB, this game will likely tilt in Lasalle's favor. Last years senior QB did absolutely nothing vs SJP (12-32 139 yards) and whoever is the QB this year couldn't beat him out. In spite of this coaching's staff's background at P-R, development of skill players has been very much lacking both at SV and PCC. (If you want to count the kids they only had one year last year, fine, but IMO, this year is the first year of "their" kids).
Full circle, no high level passing game makes PCC just like PCC has been forever - a run dominated team that beats up on WPIAL folks and struggles against the big boys.
