Second hand info however heard coach Pettine died this morning. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Oh no. Never met him but know people who did know him and from every account he was a great coach, great person and influenced thousands of young men in his years of coaching and teaching. PA and the Coaching community has lost a great one. Sad to hear

Damn, this is a tough one. There was always something special about playing those CBW teams, even if it's been almost 40 years. Talked to him at a golf outing around 10 years ago, he was smart and had a good sense of humor. He got a chuckle when I told him my assignment was blocking man-child Ivan Lesnik back in '79. RIP Mike.

Sad to hear. Villanova grad. Pretty sure you can't coach like he did anymore, not sure that's a good thing either.

Michael Smerconish just did a great tribute to Coach Pettine on his 9AM CNN show. Worth trying to find a replay of it online.
