Well, nothing drives me back to posting on the board then the unintelligent at large posting against a coach, especially a good one.
You're right, taking this year out of it, which is a year they graduated a boat load of kids and replaced them with new starters, all Bubba did was have his team in the championship game 2 out of the previous 3 years. He also helped develop 2 of the better QBs in the area over the past 5-6 years in DiGalbo and Haley. He took the reigns of the program after Tommy Oropeza put it on the right path and then advanced it further, making it competitive and a consistent Delco solid team.
While some of his competition was regularly scheduling easy wins for their non-league schedule, he had Bonner playing legit football game against Upper Darby, Garnet Valley, Downingtown East, Academy Park just to name a few because he would rather have his team better come playoff time having played better competition. He helped take a program that was left completely bankrupt by Jim Burner. With Tom Oropeza, he helped get them back on the right track and competitive, all with little to no support from the school. They were rarely allowed to practice on the beautiful turf field in front of the building, and often had to run their practices from the baseball infield, where if you threw a deep pass it would go into the soccer teams practice. Even when the field was available, they often didn't get to use it because it would be inexplicably rented out to a local college for their sports events. Oh, and let's not forget that during the bad storms this past offseason, their weightroom flooded and was deemed unusable, and the school was in no hurry to fix that, so they had to "lift on their own".
Even with the inability to really recruit and getting zero support from the school, he had the program successful and relevant, when they were 0-24 when he got there. But you're right, his dismissal was "long overdue". That makes complete sense.
