I watched the SJP-Roman game last night and wondered what has happened to Roman since those early very impressive wins. I've never seen so many motion penalties at any level, and both the offense and defense seemed disorganized. The same team that demolished St. John's (DC) and beat Malvern? I also noticed they had very few fans in the stands--why?

Something is off. Not exactly sure what’s going on. Tried to get a sense last night. Definitely needs to fix the penalty issues going into state playoffs. With Imhotep moving up, anything less than a final appearance is a failure. District 1 5a will be tough out whoever emerges.

How does Roman match up vs. a potential D1 champ? (e.g. Chester, Haven, Rustin, Springfield)

I think Chester can give them problems because they can match up across the board. After Friday Haven worries me too due to discipline. Haven't played against anyone with the scheme that Haven has so on a short week that could be tough. I didn't see Rustin or Springfield play this year.

I said this in a post a few weeks back and I'll say it again now.... in my very amateur opinion, the D1 5A tourney will be the closest and most exciting district tourney this postseason. A handful of teams at the top that seem to be pretty evenly matched despite much different styles from team to team. And with GV moving down, it only adds to the depth of quality teams in the bracket

Hard to beat anyone with a dozen false starts.
What was that all about? I know they're were trying to run a hurry-up, but after the third or fourth penalty you'd think they'd get the message that they just weren't ready.
