Power Ratings:

I’ll use Coatesville as an eg of how the numbers are conjured up. Boring stuff with numerous linkage games, as many as possible attempting to measure strength through a deeper look into schedules. All is fluid pended coming games. Here’s how they line up.

Coatesville 161.00
Small sample size here (Downingtown East pending) with few real tests excepting Harrisburg, Middletown South (?) and Downingtown West.
** Harrisburg provides linkage games (quality teams they defeated) to Central Dauphin, State College, Chamberburg and Cedar Cliff, with CD linking to Berks Catholic, Wilson and Manheim Township; State College linking to St. Augustine Prep; Chambersburg linking to Red Lion; Cedar Cliff linking to Governor Mifflin, Bishop McDevitt and Cocalico.
** Downingtown West provides linkage games (quality teams they defeated) to Perkiomen Valley, Neshaminy and Downingtown East, with Perkiomen Valley linking to Pennridge; Neshaminy linking to North Penn, Pennridge (again) and Truman; Downingtown East linking to Roman to get to the PCL.
NOTES: Where it gets subjective is defining a quality team. That’s critical since those teams are the basis for compiling numbers. So, is a team like Souderton at 4-4 used after looking terrible the first 3 then switching gears discovering an offense going 4-1 with a 2-pt loss to North Penn? How about CB West at 2-6, losing games by 2, 3, 6 and 7 points? Some decisions are easy; you don’t count the win over floundering Cumberland Valley. And while Middletown South is a great program, I’m not sure they’re a representative team and didn’t count them. I counted Souderton but not CB West.

North Penn 154.00
Challenging schedule but won all including multiple close calls. Highest number of bonus points per schedule difficulty, 30.
Garnet Val 152.60
Like North Penn, won the close ones benefitting by 3 of the 4 teams used being at home. Earned 15 bonus points per schedule difficulty.
Dtown West 139.90
Used Perk Val, Neshaminy, Coatesville and DEast with the number taking a dive per 42-14 Cville loss but recovering with DEast win. Qb Howard?
Haverford 132.66
Small sample size using G-Val and Radnor (Springfield next, Ridley pending) that impacted bonus points negatively, e.g., North Penn got 30, Haverford 7. Huge win v Radnor plus 5 straight gets your attention. O can be huge.
Spg Ford 132.61
Used Wayne Valley, Wilson and Exeter. Only loss at Wilson. Nice non-conf schedule. Perk Val next.
Truman 130.85
Only loss a good one vs CR South where they were banged up, shorthanded. Have learned to win the close ones, beating Skins and Falcons in close calls.
Perk Val 127.08
Strong non-conference games. Tight loss to DWest in opener 44-33 where a Pick-6 sealed it. Different story vs DEast following week where Cougars roughed them up, especially on the ground. Other game used was Pennridge. Haven’t been tested recently. Spring Ford next.
Up Darby 126.68
Small sample size, Springfield and MLK hurt “schedule” bonus points with Ridley and G-Val ahead. Ridley ok’d per ot loss to Springfield and winning 4 straight impressively. Royals D under rated.
Dtown East 125.16
Low rating reflects unchallenging schedule and 21 point loss to DWest after 7-0 start. Get a quality game road test 10/26 at Coatesville.

Here are few others not on that list.
Qtown 136.93
Pennsbury 135.77
Souderton 133.59
Pennridge 132.13
CR South 130.13
Neshaminy 130.09
CB East 125.66
Ridley 122.64
