PIAA fall season.

Nice to see that politics are not affecting high school football.

So which way will the PIAA go today? I have a feeling they are going to go ahead with the fall season. Whether that's considered passing the buck to the districts, not sure. But NJ is going that route!

Vote was 25-5 in favor. Surprising to me was one of the Nay votes was from Ridley .
I wonder if many schools that get a "go" to play will have a hard time getting the number of players they need. In the PCL Red , for instance, I'm sure SJP , LaSalle, Roman, and Wood (though Wood didn't have many on the roster last year) will field full teams but will Judge have trouble, especially when last year they got hammered by just about every game? And in the PCL Blue, what about the schools with very small enrollments to begin with, especially if students are only in class two days a week?

SOL National has all three CB teams, Pennridge and Abington in so far.

This will certainly comfort all those incensed parents in the CBSD who have to stay home with their kids, knowing sports will carry on.

Bensalem is in, Truman is out.

Hey Rover, surprised Easton is not playing Parkland in this 5 game schedule for the EPC.

They split the league by county - Northampton county has Easton and Bethlehem, plus Nazareth and Northampton. Lehigh county is Allentown and the Allentown suburbs (Parkland, Whitehall, Emmaus). It makes sense from a fairness standpoint - lines are already drawn and sensible. If we actually get a playoff, the three division champs plus a wildcard is a system that just should be adopted any way going forward. But it’ll be weird not playing Parkland, though preseason we’re probably the two best teams, so it could happen down the line. More confident in them holding up their end is the bargain than us.

Its how the old LVC did all of its division in every sport (other than wrestling, which were separated by “competitive history” which was shockingly sensible for high school sports) with the Northampton County winner playing the Lehigh County winner for a conference champion. Now, the divisions are city schools, suburban schools, and mountain schools in all sports but football and every sport has a massive, oversized conference tournament before we do it all over again for districts.

Thanks for the explanation.

Ches-Mont is out too. Won't be much football in SE PA this fall.

With all these leagues postponing. We have to figure the others will decide to change their decisions and postpone to. Best car scenario is they figure a way to play in the spring. It’s going to be a boring fall

Nope, the rest of the state is playing. Unfortunately it's all politics in SE PA.
