A really great win for McDevitt in Philly. They have suprised an awful lot of people. Hope they continue to roll. Drew Gordon has definitely made a difference and these kids have stepped up big time.way to go

#10 is Dontae mason and is one super tough player with great speed and overall talent . Their team size is bigger than you stated. I had a program from previous week and McD had a number of players 250 and above. Their DBs were very effective ,and They have a number of good receivers. Bryson can throw. I agree that they were getting gassed, with most players playing both ways and special teams. They will be up against Old Forge next week ,I believe[not positive]. That team usually is solid and the whole town attends their games. McD has a shot with their skill players.McD is super quick ( 2 kickoff returns for scores) and super small; the one MC RB was as big as anyone on McD's defense. McD did get out to a 21-0 lead and needed all of it to weather the MC storm. McD wore down totally in the second half on both sides of the ball. Sucking wind would be putting it mildly; they were done. If this game had 5 more minutes MC may have pulled off the comeback.
McD has a unique QB setup; they play both 10 and 11. #10 is one of the quickest, elusive kids I've seen but small, decent arm though but his strength clearly is running the ball. #11 is bigger and has a big arm, is accurate, has nice touch and uses #10 as a receiver which causes confusion. All in all, Gordon did a good job rotating them.
D played great early until they just totally wore down; offense played well but also wore down totally. Fun team to watch; not sure how they will hold up against all the bigger squads they'll be seeing but they got past the first one!
Good Luck McD.

JB, Bryson was the only QB for half the year, but he hurt his knee in their first league game. Mason is their best athlete, so they put him in there and he got better each week. Not a natural QB, tho. It will be interesting to see how they use them this week. They have slowly been weening Mason off of the position. Not sure if Bryson is 100% back, but he's been back for 3-4 weeks now. #3 DiLeo has ran well all year, but for some reason they don't overload him with carries. He has decent size, too. Macon a considerable threat on the outside, while Campfield is a blossoming player at TE. I'd like to see them stick to Bryson and put Mason/DiLeo in the backfield. Give them both carries. Maybe, some wildcat with Mason. Use him on flares to flats, too. Just get him space as much as possible. Good to see them having some success.
Gordon Sr. is doing a great job with McDevitt. You can see a major shift not just i their offense, but in their confidence and demeanor.
They have used mason in the wildcat at times ,with RB DeLeo in the backfield with him. DeLeo is a very good rb and as Huck mentioned he has not been running the ball much lately. he stands over 6 foot and is about 205. They have many options on offense and I'm sure Drew Gordan will figure out which ones to use this week. I will be getting a ride up the mountains for this one. I am also hoping for all three PCL teams to advance this week.West catholic IMO will take care of business vs.Dunmore. Most people around the state are making the PCL teams underdogs due to their W/L records ,not taking into consideration of who they lost to. Both LaSalle and McDevitt have legitimate chances for a win this week. Thanks Huck; if you get a chance to watch this game, do it. Mason was just incredible; speed really does kill I guess. Bryson took most of the snaps; I'd say it was 70% - 30% and most of Mason's snaps were early. From the second quarter on, it was mostly all Bryson. What's chilling is when the OC had both of them in the backfield at the same time (as you suggested above); the options are limitless with those two.
Nice team; actually their D was just too fast for MC who probably had more talent than they were able to show; undersized can have it advantages at times. Am hoping both they and WC have successful extended runs in the states.
