La Salle-St. Joe Prep

Congrats to the Explorers - unfortunately, being out of town, I was unable to be there. Sounds like it did come down to last possession.

Prep has had some offensive dilemmas lately while LS has remained consistent. Also, success lends itself to contempt or content depending on how you see it. It's happened to each staff now at SJP in present and past and LS previous staff. Good luck to Coach Steinmetz and his team as they move forward.

Roxy,
It was a game for the ages, at least on our side. Fabulous high school contest between the two respected rivals.
Talked to my old Prep friends following the game who were there. Think they summed it up best, Prep played as though they expected to win, LaSalle played as though they wanted it bad!

Little sloppy but very physical. LS loses 2 starting lineman and Jones played on essentially one ankle. Prep QB goes out in 2nd Half (not sure why?), didn't think he was much of a factor while in there, not a real threat in the passing game. Swift and Walls are dynamic, need to hold breath every time those two touch the ball. They broke loose on a several occasions, but the LS defense rose when it had to. Thought Prep pass defense was quite vulnerable, especially in middle of field giving up big plays. Ferguson's pick six at the end of 1st half could have been the game breaker, but he shook it off and the team responded with a continued spirited effort throughout 2nd stanza. LS remained un-deterred even after Wall's TD long run put them up 11. They weren't going down today!!

Not sure how far this LS team will further advance, wasn't "expecting" a deep run (however we were hopeful ;)), but for tonight and this week, the spoils are sweet..
