Harrisburg football has found its fourth opponent, reschedules Commonwealth foe State College at 11th hour
The Cougars and Little Lions were originally scheduled to play Friday before State College pulled out to participate in the District 6 Class 6A final with Altoona
Good news for Harrisburg and sad news for Wilson who....if this goes off as scheduled will get bumped to 5th place in a 4 team field.
State College. Disappointing season for the Lions going 2-2 losing Friday’s District-6 title game to Altoona 22-21. Rebuilding, injuries and difficulty building a schedule similar to Harrisburg’s plight makes it all the more interesting they wind up playing each other Monday. But Coach Matt Lintal said he’d “fight like hell” for the team to schedule more games, and here he is playing Harrisburg three days after playing Altoona (3-2). SC’s wins are against Cumberland Valley 31-0 and Carlisle 38-29 with losses to Central Dauphin in the opener 35-13 and Altoona Friday at SC. They’re pretty much a ground pounder with Qb Conrad Moore at 453 yards rushing, completing 29 of 48 for 396 yards for a 4/1 ratio. Nehemiah Howell rushed for 231 yards on 31 attempts with Sammy Knipe, DeShaun Green, and TJ Yoder snagging the throws equally. Their outstanding back Dresyn Green had 78 vs Altoona (10 prior) per injuries; Altoona being just the second game he’s played. SC won last year 21-6.
