District 11 Wrestling

I'm assuming Kosko will be the final athlete they can do this with and still have him wrestle in junior high / middle school. New rule since 2023 gives 6 seasons of sports participation after 6th grade, or 4 years of school after 8th grade. So, if you're competing for any school in 7th and 8th grade, any holding back at that age means you lose a year of HS eligibility. Once you graduate 8th grade, then your 4 years starts counting, so you can't repeat 8th grade (doesn't matter if you compete or not) and still retain your 4 years of high school.
I’ve had it explained to me that they have some system for trying to skirt transfer rules, but it involves a little Catholic grade school in Nazareth for where they enroll initially to repeat a year, then come into Nazareth’s junior high in track. I don’t really follow the particulars, and Crowell keeps his hands out of it, but that and their club association with the old Dark Knights up in Stroudsburg has been very beneficial.

Also, far be it from me, Easton wrestling supporter, to be critical of shady transfer schemes when I’m well aware of things like “Jordan Nettuno living in the apartment above Jack Cuvo’s warehouse” and “Russ Sounders house is suddenly across the street from where it used to be” or “hmm, what part of the Millen property is in Riegelsville again?” or “Sal is going to play football at Becahi this fall, but don’t worry, he’s coming back in December”. We’re all hypocrites.
