Pennsbury's offense showed signs of life, sparked by the return of starting FB #24 Mulbah (missed first 5 games), but the defense once again provided little resistance in a 56-21 loss at CB East on Saturday afternoon. Mulbah rushed for two first-half TDs, but PHS trailed 35-14 at the break. CB East scored on its first five possessions (2 rush/3 pass), generating 279 yards of first-half total offense (121 rush/158 pass) on only 21 plays. Pennsbury picked up 152 yards of total offense (107 rush/45 pass) in the first half. The mercy-rule took effect midway through the third quarter after two quick CB East TDs, the second after an interception at the PHS 10. Each team scored once in the fourth quarter for a 56-21 final.

PHS final stats:
Rush: 40 for 194, 3 TDs
Pass: 9-14 for 126, 1 INT
Takeaway: Offense improved but still not good

CB East final stats:
Rush: 25 for 227, 4 TDs
Pass: 10-12 for 187, 4 TDs
Takeaway: Scored on 8 of 9 possessions, stopped only by halftime

Is Snyder still teaching or is he retired now? I know he took some heat when he was there, but I’d love to see him return. He will make them competitive again.

Snyder is still teaching at Pennsbury. Definitely took heat, some deserved, but ran a successful program that produced two District 1 titles.

Pennsbury Football could be the worst coached team in the state! How does McShane still have a job here?
My observations:
1) McShane should have never been hired! Why did he leave the HC position at Bensalem??? He still teaches there?
2) Why did 2 players transferred to Egan & 2 Truman?
3) Starting QB from last yr was away for Lacrosse showcase camps and missed 2 wks of optional workouts, when he comes back coaches make him backup and get Zero reps for 2 weeks?? He was the best offensive weapon they had, makes NO sense at all!!
4) They have done 1 live team scrimmage since last year, and have done ZERO live tackling at all.(Not 1 live tackling drill)
5) Why did McShane move their best Defensive player from LB to DE? Also sat starting senior Safety from the first two games and put in a sophomore.
6) There are a minimum 6 players that 💯have to play on BOTH sides of the Ball! Pennsbury is one if not the only one who does not allow kids to play both ways!
7) Maybe go to the soccer game and pick out an actual punter, net 9 yard punts is a disgrace!
A school as diverse as Pennsbury, they need a HC that works in the Building and actually Cares about the program & players not Just a PAYCHECK! A coach who actually goes to a JV game, a freshman game to see what talents are coming up! Pennsbury looses 2-4 studs every year to Egan, ND, Wood b/c The HC never talks w/ the rising Freshman, or even the Middle School coaches.
The AD needs to fire McShane tomorrow, and get Snyder to take over the high school program, put McShane at the WP middle school program that Snyder just took over!
The Once proud tradition of Pennsbury Football, will be lucky to win a game before 2023!! If McShane is still HC I would bet the house on that!

PHS definitely looks like a badly coached team. Some thoughts on your points...
1. McShane was Snyder's DC, and I think he got the job based on his time as a coordinator and his head coaching experience. Probably seemed like the easy choice at the time. Don't know for sure why he was let go at Bensalem, but believe he still teaches there.
2. Don't know the reasons, but bad year to lose kids to other schools.
3. Agree that last year's QB was very good, basically he made things happen while running for his life. Had not heard the full story of his demotion, but they have done similar things to other kids with regard to depth chart.
4. Terrible practice routine...watched only 2 practices this year (used to watch a lot), but I watched the entire team stand around while the FG team kicked for 20 minutes. Then watched the offense (starters only) listen to instructions from OC for 43 minutes before running an actual play. No wonder the option pitch looks like it was installed yesterday. Many examples like this over the years.
5. Also, starting LB from last year moved to DT to start season. He is listed at 160 pounds.
6. Completely agree, have to keep best players on the field, at least in a platoon situation on one side.
7. Has to be a kid among the 1600 boys at the school that can punt around 30 yards consistently. But that kid has to want to play ball.

Really can't see any justification to retain McShane. Youth, lack of size, etc., are issues but certainly related to coaching to some extent. Snyder being available and interested might make McShane's release an even easier decision.

Yes, there was no coach at William Penn , so he took the position.

It sure seems he has the coaching itch again between being at West briefly then taking over at WP. I’d love to see him back on the sidelines. I do not see why Pennsbury can’t be a perennial power in the SOL and District 1. They have a ton of kids roaming the halls.
