Big 33 2025

I went to the big 33 a few years ago because I had a “relative” playing. I got so sunburnt, I was bed ridden for a couple days afterwards. There was great talent sure, however what I got out of it was a couple of crazy parents/fans. Some unnecessary comments were made

Was there a decent crowd at the game? The whole announcement, and the basic info seems quite "mickey mouse." IMO they really need to stop calling it the "super bowl of all-star games."

Really seems to me, kind of a weird "central PA" thing, with local promoters- they "release" the info to PennLive paper, maybe to get subscribers? And then "big 33" game has 44 names listed? Really weird. Watered down and lame, def not "helping to improve PA football in my opinion

There was a decent crowd but I couldn’t tell where the people were coming from. They had a motorcycle gang watching which I thought was unique.

I wouldn’t read too much into “Super Bowl of all star games” it’s like NYC places saying they have the #1 pizza in the city. Although it’s pretty cool the Super Bowl streak it has

who was the "relative"?

bed ridden from sun burn? never heard of that lol

it's been close to 20 years since the game seemed like a big deal, I remember Terrelle Pryor said he had no interest in playing what he called "some game against Ohio"

When Mickey Minnich ran this game, it had a special feel about it. Now, it has an intramaural vibe to it. Feels very cheap.
totally agreed- cheap, weak and lame

The PA "state leadership" including PIAA and PSFCA is only making HS football worse in PA, imo. Their weird love-fest with Cumberland County has gotta stop- we are trending toward like "New England football." Local politics, weird sponsors- and game-day "dunk tanks?" And they had a "banquet?" WTF? And it was the Big 33- but there are 44 kids on the list???

Why not alternate between Eastern Pa and Western PA hosting the game? Here's another suggestion- adjust the "east-west" all star games- stop separating big school/small school- everything is just too watered-down. Too many All-state teams, too many "all-star" teams. If its too easy to make those teams- then the "luster" decreases. Participation trophies for 6-7 year olds, maybe okay- but not okay for 16-17 year old young adults!!
