The Ridley Plant also recently laid off over 200, many were composite fabricators. You can’t force employers to ignore economic reality building unnecessary product when contracted with the Feds. The good news is they just recalled 15, to build and refit Chinooks I imagine.

Stalker - agreed. Just like you can't force employers to abandon automation (ie coal mines, auto manufactoring) to bring back jobs. Some jobs are just gone.

Indeed they are and the money, the real money unfortunately isn’t always on the manufacturing end of it in this brave new world. With our inordinate reserves of coal it could have lasting and spectacular effect if it were mined cheaper and burnt cleaner. Then there’s the competition. Trump has backed himself into a corner on this topic and it will be interesting seeing how or if he can get out of it!

It's a good point, Stalker. Not all of Trump's initiatives are going to work out, but it's great to see so much effort by a president. Some people make things happen, some watch things happen, and others (obama) wonder what is happening.
