Yea, no cupcakes on that schedule. I think they are a work-in-progress in terms of recent standards, but I fully expect them to be right in the thick of things come November at the 5A level. They don't have a Mark Webb, Kyle Pitts, McClenton, D. Peoples, Colin Thompson. etc type of player/recruit, but they have plenty to achieve this year. They are as fundamental and sound as ever on the OL. Maybe, a bit lighter than usual, but still a real nice group there. This Santiago kid is emerging and I still think Blackstone will be heard from. It takes them a little longer to score compared to recent years, but the competition has been stiff. Bergen and McDonogh were very good up front on both sides of the ball. This Spalding team was tied with Good Counsel (SJP beat them 34-27) 35-35 and had the ball at the 4-minute mark of 4th QT before weather ended it. They are sound on defense and play good team defense. They have been hit by the big play from time to time, but overall I like what I see from the D. LB Dylan Urbanowski has a nose for the ball. Bishop has been a force on the DL and they have scrappy kids throughout that unit. They are still well-coached and still have good special teams. Considering the schedule and losing their QB I'd have to think that splitting those first four games is a pretty good thing.
I haven't seen them live, but I have watched all of their games off of Hudl.
