Q&A with Bishop McCort defensive tackle Trenton Boltz

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Since we were authorized by the state, we've been lifting as a team in an approved plan. Additionally, the team has been doing some 7 on 7 work, and the line has been working in small groups to improve our technique and unity. We have all been devoting some study time to learning our offense and terminology.”

What areas do you feel your team needs to improve on?
“We need to be more cohesive on offense and become more confident. That starts with the line. We've all gotten bigger and stronger, and that needs to translate onto the field.”

Who is your opponent in the season opener and how do you feel about them overall?
“We play Forest Hills in our opener. They have a lot of tradition, and we know they will be ready to play. We want to treat every game like both teams are 0-0. In this game, that's the reality. Somebody will be 1-0, and after the way we've started the last two seasons, we're determined to be that team this year.”

How do you feel your team will do this football season?

They have been tremendous, both in and out of quarantine, at motivating and teaching us. We have great leadership from the upper classmen, and a lot of talented skill guys.
