......................................................................................................

Q&A with West Perry quarterback Kenyon Johnson

How did the high school football season go overall?
“The football season went very well and I'm happy for the players on my team that had the breakout seasons that they had, myself included. But I'm not satisfied and ready to prep for next year.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans are to grind hard in the weight room all winter and try and improve my speed in track in the spring. After track is over, I'll be back in the weight room for the summer and I've been planning some workouts with other athletes that attended my school as well.”

What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“I am trying to improve my vocal leadership. I think I do a good job of leading by example, but I need to work on being more vocal with my team.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think next year, it will be very hard to replace the numbers that my teammates put up this season. I think the younger kids will step up and do just fine. That will help contribute to another playoff run.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“I think that Northern will be very tough next season. They have a really good running game with their returning RB that they have. It will be tougher to stop them as they grow over the off-season, but I still think we'll be ready.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?

Q&A with Central Dauphin defensive back Nick Chimienti

How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season overall went very well. As a team, we have been a lot of ups and downs this year. We lost a teammate, #62 Harrison Fenstemaker, who was an offensive lineman. Harrison tragically lost his life to a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle. We went 9-4 and went all the way to district finals and lost to Harrisburg 16-6. Central Dauphin had one of the toughest schedules in 6A in the state. I had 1190 all-purpose yards, four Interceptions, and double-digit passes defended.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Right now, I am playing varsity basketball for Central Dauphin, but I will continue to lift and train with Lance Deane from Varsity Reps. Last summer, I trained with Bo Orlando, a former 9-year NFL veteran DB who played college ball at WVU. I also intend to train in the off-season with Tyrai Anderson, a former Lock Haven University DB and with Cory Dickerson from First State Preps.”

What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“As a player, I am going to train my hardest on my strength, speed, and agility. I also want to work on seeing the field better back at safety.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We have a lot of young talent on our team that have varsity experience this year. We are losing starters both on offense and defense, but our young players have gained a lot of experience. I feel that next year, they will be key contributors to the team. We have a very close team and one big family.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“I think next year one of our hardest games will be Manheim Township. They had a very young team this year and had a lot of success.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?

Q&A with Exeter Township athlete Alex Javier

How did the high school football season go overall?
“I had a very good year. I eclipsed the 1,000 yards for my career this year.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I play basketball for Exeter, where I have started since freshman year and was First team all-county as a sophomore.”

What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“Leadership.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we will be very good because we have loaded 2020 and 2021 classes.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“Governor Mifflin.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I’d like to play basketball in college.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Nothing serious yet. I’ve been to camps for the University of Penn and Johns Hopkins.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“No, I have not.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I am a big fan of college basketball, but I don’t have a favorite.”

Q&A with Wyoming Area linebacker Corey Mruk

How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season went very well. My team finished 11-0 before I injured my ankle in the district quarterfinal and lost the next week in the semifinal in a very close game. We completed the season at 11-1.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans are to rehab my ankle back to 100% and make it back for wrestling season as soon as I can. I am also a two-time district II AA wrestling champion as well.”

What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“I am trying to improve my skills as a running back such as speed, vision and learning how the defense I’m playing against works and knowing their scheme better. On the defensive side of the ball, I want to improve pass coverage as a linebacker and read keys faster.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel next season, we will do better than we did last season. We have many kids returning with a lot of experience that will help us win games.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“The toughest game next year will be the district championship game. We came up short this year in the semifinals and I believe we can finish the job we started next year with a district title.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I plan to play sports in college. I plan to either play football or wrestle.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Mostly schools from the Patriot League and Northeast Conference have showed interest in recruitment.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was the University of Miami.”

Q&A with Manheim Township wide receiver Brett Benjamin

How did the high school football season go overall?
“Although the season didn’t have the ending that we hoped for, I feel that overall we had a good season for a young football team.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I decided to only play one sport and focus on football. I plan to work out almost every day with the team this off-season to get faster and stronger for next year.”

What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“As a player, my main focus this off-season is to further improve my speed.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“There are high expectations for our team next season. With having a lot of returning starters, we hope to go far.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“I feel that our toughest competition next year will probably be Wilson, Central Dauphin, and Cocalico. Wilson and CD always play us tough and Cocalico has a lot of returning talent.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would like to continue my football career in college. My biggest interest is to play in the PSAC. My brother is currently starting at QB for Bloomsburg, so I have attended many games and have gotten the opportunity to check out a lot of schools. Idea leading into next season

This is my 3rd year contributing to the eastern pa high school football message board and it has given me tons of incite about local teams and I love it and love football. With that being said, I am very thankful (happy thanksgiving by the way). Moving forward, considering the easy access to technology in our own homes I would love to suggest 2 or 3 of our better, more knowledgeable posters to create a weekly podcast during the season. My thought is once a week starting scrimmage week or week 1 leading all the way to the state championships. What’s great about podcasts is you can listen live or later. Any thoughts? Happy thanksgiving to all and enjoy today’s games.

College Football Today All-American High School All Star Game

College Football Today - 126 Government St, Mobile, AL, 36602

Karson Martz -Bishop McDevitt

Bishop McDevitt’s defense has risen to a new level in the playoffs locking down West Perry and Conrad Weiser’s run game.
Karson Martz #13 is a large part of the defensive domination. By sealing the edge Martz funnels the weak side traffic in and jams things up for the awesome duo of Clair and Donley to clean up . On the eve of the D-3 championship my prediction is as 13 goes so goes McDevitt. No one will notice except those with an eye for football.
If Martz can can handle the 6’7 Luke Painton and Brandon George freight train McDevitt will win big. You read it here and only here.

Power Ratings: 4A-3A, All games

Power Ratings 4A
District 12 champ vs District 2 champ
Imhotep Charter 9-2 vs Valley View 13-0….15.04 Imhotep Charter

Nice win by Imhotep Charter School getting their fourth shutout of the year, defeating Cardinal O’Hara (7-4) 20-0, holding the Lions to 110 total yards. ICS got just enough from running backs Tykee Smith at 86 yards, Saint McLeod’s 84 and Qb Jalen Sutton-Christian completing 12 of 18 passes for 133 yards to get their eighth straight win since losing to St. Joseph Regional 14-8 on Sept 8th. Valley View got a wake-up call when Dallas (11-2) scored on their first possession, taking a 7-0 lead. That was all Valley needed as they went on a scoring binge, hitting pay dirt on their next seven possessions to blow Dallas out of the playoffs 49-14. VV attacks with a quick scat back in Mason Kordish at 5-8, 135 pounds who’s darted for 1666 yards behind a massive O-Line, averaging 6-1 ½, 264 pounds. Qb Janaasah Boone is a double threat, passing for 1014 yards and rushing for 720. ICS beat them last year 41-0. Because they don’t get out of Dodge too often, it’s hard getting a handle on them. Sight unseen, linking up some other games says they’re above teams like Wyoming Valley West, East Stroudsburg South and Delaware Valley as examples. Only allowed 120 points, beat a solid Scanton Prep (12-1) team 27-15 who beat Dunmore 30-0 who just lost to West Catholic 21-3 which may give a hint here.
District 11 champ vs District 1, 4 champ
Bethlehem Catholic 10-3 vs Pottsgrove 12-2….18.74 Bethlehem Catholic

Bethlehem Catholic responded to an early 14-7 deficit to Saucon Valley (10-3), chipping away to get a 24-14 halftime lead then poured it on, scoring 49 unanswered points in a runaway 73-14 win. SV’s defense has been suspect all year but 73 points!? Tavion Banks rushed for 122 yards with Qb Zamar Brake completing 9 of 11 for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns. Beca’s a load when they get it going as evidenced by their 50-49 shootout loss to Emmaus 5 weeks ago. And after the EPC-South wars, playoff games against Blue Mountain, Pottsville and SV must seem like a walk in the park. Pottsgrove defeated Jersey Shore (7-6) 14-10, running all over them for 314 yards to the Bulldogs 40. Isaiah Taylor gashed JS for 180 yards on 31 carries. This is the same Jersey Shore team that lost to Mount Carmel 47-7 and Southern Columbia 62-7 to give you some comparisons as there are no PAC teams of equivalent stature to Bethlehem Catholic.
District 3 Final
Bishop McDevitt 11-1 vs Berks Catholic 10-2….1.60 Berks Catholic

McDevitt raced out to a 33-0 lead at the half behind the pinpoint passing of Chase Diehl who tagged Conrad Weiser’s defense for 377 yards passing and five touchdowns. Weiser did a good job on CJ Ryes Diggs, holding him to 58 yards on ten carries. But that’s the only bright spot with Diehl taking advantage over the top. McDevitt’s defense held the Scouts to 80 yards rushing and eight first downs. Junk time saw them score 13 fourth quarter points as the Crusaders prevailed 40-16. They’ll play Berks Catholic who beat Milton Hershey (10-2) last week 49-21. They also beat McDevitt last year 45-24 to add some spice to this one. BC was way too much against the Spartans, leading 42-7 at the half, holding them to 46 yards rushing and 204 unproductive yards passing. Abdul MacFoy (Wilson transfer) led them with 80 yards on 9 carries with Brandon George adding 74 on 10 attempts. The stat check had McDevitt almost swamping BC until factoring in schedule difficulty where the Saints closed the gap by at least a touchdown, playing teams like Central Dauphin (9-4) 0-7 loss, McDonogh-MD (3-6) 14-13 and Malvern Prep (11-0) 32-42. McDonogh is a great example how misleading a record can be, knowing they opened the season with Archbishop Wood, Berks Catholic and Malvern Prep, before progressing to Archbishop Spalding (7-3), Mt. St. Joseph (10-2), St Vincent-St. Mary-OH (7-3) and Calvert Hall (11-1).
District 6/8/9/10 champ vs District 7 champ
Cathedral Prep 10-3 vs South Fayette 12-1….5.64 South Fayette

Cathedral Prep pounced on slower Clearfield getting a 35-12 lead at the half that ballooned to 55-21 by games end as the Bison’s undefeated season came to a close at 12-1. Qb Connor Schleicher was on target completing 9 of 15 for 232 to big Jack Oedekoven (6-4, 185, jr) who snagged three for 153 yards. Their leading rusher Billy Lucas, rushed 186 yards, bringing his season total to 1322. ECP lit into the Bison for 570 total yards (338r 232p), while holding them to 264. They’ll face South Fayette in the quarterfinal following the Lions upset of previously undefeated Thomas Jefferson 31-24. But hey, South Fayette’s only loss was their opener to Upper St. Clair (8-3) by a point so how much of an upset was it? Weird game with TJ outdistancing them 427 to 276, and Max Shaw bashing them for 214 yards on 41 carries. But the D was there when needed forcing TJ to go 17.79 yards to get a single point, while they only had to go 8.9 with a more efficient offense. Lion’s Qb Jamie Diven completed 12 of 22 passes for 252 yards and 3 scores to be a thorn in TJ’s side throughout the game. Cathedral is on a historic run, defending their 4A title after beating TJ 42-17, Berks Catholic 42-24 and Imhotep 38-28 last year going 14-0. In 2016 they also won the title at 14-0 defeating the same three teams, TJ 30-13, Berks 28-14 and Imhotep 27-20. The year before that in 2015 they lost in the final to Imhotep’s great team 40-3, with the Panthers finishing 15-0. Regardless of power ratings, recent history says the WPIAL can’t keep up with Cathedral. The game is at Veterans Stadium in Erie!

Power Ratings 3A
District 1/11/12 champ vs District 3 champ
Conwell Egan 13-0 vs Middletown 11-1….6.25 Conwell Egan

Conwell Egan overcame a powerful team from North Schuylkill (11-2) in a hard fought game winning 28-14. The Spartans came in with notable wins against Mount Carmel, Jim Thorpe, Pottsville and Notre Dame, but couldn’t get it going against CEC’s defense that held them to 74 total yards! Pat Garwo was unstoppable as ever, rushing for 150 yards, breaking the 2000 yard mark with a season total of 2024 yards. They simply had too many weapons. Apart from Garwo, there’s quarterback Alex Golsby throwing for 1135 yards and rushing for 591. Plus Terome Mitchel with 501 yards and Dajuan Harris at 499 yards. That will be enough to have them far more competitive with a Middletown team that throttled them 49-7 last year. CEC is a different team this year, averaging 41ppg as opposed to 30 last year. Defensively, they’re significantly improved, allowing 14ppg compared to 25 last year. Middletown comes out statistically similar as last year’s team scoring 40 a game allowing 14. They’re still a bad ass physical team that gets after you defensively like last week, holding Bermudian Springs to 61 rush yards to their 289 in a 42-20 rout. Jose Lopez at 210 yards on 24 carries and Richie Sykes with 76 yards on 16 carries are their primary weapons. Senior Scott Ash is under center, throwing effectively as needed, completing 6 of 12 for 136 yards against Bermudian Springs last week. North Schuylkill was good prep being a physical hard hitting team. But they lack Middletown’s backfield speed. The game is at Milton Hershey High, essentially a home game for the Raiders where it should be a war that CEC can win.
District 2 champ vs District 4 champ
Scranton Prep 12-1 vs Montoursville 11-2….7.19 Scranton Prep

The Cavaliers had no trouble with a Lakeland (9-4) team that was simply outmanned. Earlier in the year Prep handled the Chiefs 44-12, with this one getting just as ugly with Prep prevailing 47-19. They are led by dual threat Qb Leo O’Boyle (6-7, 220!), OT/DE Dan Berlardi (6-3, 270), C/DT T.J. Holmes (6-3, 260), FB/LB Tucker Johnson, DB/WR Carter O’Dell and DB/WR Michael Greco. They score 38ppg with a defense allowing 8ppg and have five shutouts. They’ll play Montoursville who beat Danville 32-0 for their third shutout of the season. So both play defense, Montoursville allowing 13ppg with both supported by powerful offenses, where the Warriors are averaging 35 points a game. Scranton Prep often has more than Heartland Conference teams (Loyalsock, Danville, Jersey City) excepting Mount Carmel and Southern Columbia, but Montoursville is a scrappy bunch, beating good stuff from Lewisburg and Danville their last two games.
District 10 champ vs District 5/6/8/9 champ
Sharon 9-3 vs Bald Eagle 11-1….3.07 Sharon

Sharon turned it on last week taking down a previously unbeaten Grove City (11-1) team, the same Grove City who routed them 42-9 five weeks ago. What a reversal, beating them last week 23-6. Jordan Wilson (5-10, 215, 1734 yards) did most of the damage, rushing for 134 yards on 30 carries. Qb Lane Voytik (6-1, 200) has 2558 yards at 64%, throwing mostly to C.J. Parchman (6-4, 215) who has 65 receptions for 978 yards. Their defense was stout, holding the Eagles to 72 rushing yards. The opponent this week is Bald Eagle who beat Bedford (6-6) 35-14. They have a dangerous quarterback in diminutive Jaden Jones at 5-10, 148 pounds who is a dual threat, completing 11 of 16 for 194 yards and 4 touchdowns. Jones threw for 2818 yards at 59% with a ratio of 31-16. Blake Roberts rushed for 102 yards on 19 carries. Their 5 primary receivers have from 18 to 46 receptions each for 2495 yards with losses coming against Bellefonte (9-3) 10-9 and Clearfield (12-1) 42-7. BA is essentially home playing in Altoona where they’ll attempt to counter Sharon’s size and quickness.

District 2/11/12 champ vs District 6 champ
West Catholic 11-2 vs Richland Township 13-0….11.80 Richland Township

West Catholic’s 14-3 halftime lead held up as they went on to defeat an always tough Dunmore (9-4) team 21-3. Quarterback Zaire Hart-Hawkins threw 2 touchdown passes while their defense shut down the respected Dunmore running game, holding their top 3 running backs Rayshaun Dawkins (907), Cristen Buckley (796) and Ralph Tolley (386) to 23, 7 and 27 yards respectively. Wow! They advance to play a strong Richland Township team out of District-6 who beat previously undefeated Ligonier Valley 21-12 in the District-6 final. This was a hard out for Richland, coming back from a 12-0 deficit for the win. Qb Joe Hauser threw for 178 yards. LV was gunning for a district three-peat. Some of the teams in District 5 and 6 play big boy football that many across the state would not notice. Last week saw Chestnut Ridge lose 40-33 in a shootout with state power Wilmington (11-1, 2A, D-10), whose only loss was to Farrell, the Single-A state and district power also out of District 10. Of note, Richland beat Chestnut Ridge (10-3, 2A, D-5) 24-20 and always strong Bishop Guilfoyle (8-4, 1A D-6), 42-0. Qb Joe Hauser is a weapon, throwing for 2884 yards at 57% with a 34/9 ratio. It’d be a mistake looking past the Rams, averaging 44ppg while allowing 9.
District 4 champ vs District 3 champ
Southern Columbia 13-0 vs York Catholic 12-0….20.04 Southern Columbia

Mount Carmel put a scare into Southern Columbia, holding them to a 13-8 halftime lead while sacking quarterback Stone Hollenbach 3 times before the Tigers worn them down, outscoring the Tornadoes 26-6 to get the 39-14 win. The win earned them their 26th district title! Stone Hollenbach threw for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns, mostly to Julian Fleming who caught 3 for 56 yards. The Garcia brothers where as always with Gaige getting 124 on 18 carries and younger brother Gavin gaining 75 yards on 11 attempts. MCA’s Michael Hood (6-0, 210, sr) had 3 sacks, taking his total to 17 ½ on the year. Undefeated York Catholic was idle last week after defeating Delone Catholic 28-21 in overtime to win the district title. Like Southern Columbia, they’re a big offense averaging 36ppg while allowing 12. But Southern’s offense is huge, averaging 55 a game allowing just 9. York Catholic is not a physically imposing team such as SCA faced playing Mount Carmel and Central Columbia. Imagine the benefit of practicing against Southern’s offense! Looks like a long day for the Fighting Irish.
District 7 WPIAL Final
Steel Valley 11-1 vs South Side 10-3….20.84 Steel Valley

Steel Valley scored on their first possession and kept on rolling, benefitting from three Freedom turnovers of which two led to touchdowns. Dionte Williams had a 22 yard Pick-6 in the first quarter to get things going. In the second quarter, Nihka Johnson returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown and the rout was on. It ended with the Ironmen winning 40-0 in their fourth consecutive WPIAL semifinal appearance, allowing them to move on to their third consecutive WPIAL final appearance. Quite a streak. The gang from Munhall has a long tradition of winning football, especially the last four years where they’ve gone 47-4, including 2016’s undefeated title team (15-0) that swamped Southern Columbia 49-7. The final sees them in a dangerous scenario playing South Side (10-3) who they defeated four weeks ago 53-6. Since then the Rams defeated McGuffey (8-3) 36-27, previously undefeated Shady Side (11-1) 32-16 and previously undefeated Charleroi (11-1) 26-21. Meanwhile Steel Valley was winning their three playoff games by a combined 128 to 7.
District 5/10 champ vs District 9 champ
Wilmington 11-1 vs Ridgeway Johnsonburg 11-1….11.23 Wilmington

Wilmington got a war from Chestnut Ridge out of the tough District 6, scoring in the last 20 seconds to pull out a 40-33 win. CR’s balanced offense (162r, 292p) almost won it with Qb Logan Pfister throwing for 202 yards and rushing for another 118. He’ll go to Pitt on a wrestling scholarship. But Cameron Marrett was the big gun for one dimensional Wilmington, rushing for 292 of their 434 yards rushing. They completed 3 of 9 passes for 63 yards. Same ole Wilmington but wow are they elusive! They’ll face Ridgway-Johnsonburg who duplicated Wilmington’s finish, scoring in the last 25 seconds of the game to edge Brockway 14-7, earning their third straight District-9 title. Tough game to watch with Ridgway out gaining Brockway 233 to 120 total yards. A win is a win and the Elkers move on to play Wilmington’s Greyhound who play like their name suggests.

District 1/2/11 champ vs District 3, 4 champ
Lackawanna Trail 12-1 vs Halifax 11-1….14.30 Lackawanna Trail

Lackawanna Trail is rolling now, winning their last six games by a combined score of 215-44 since losing to Old Forge 28-21. Along the way they avenged their only loss, to Old Forge, winning 29-12 in the first round, blasting Bristol 45-7 then destroying Tri-Valley last week 41-6. They stormed the Valley boys, with Cody Moyle (759 total) getting 108 yards on 6 carries, Jeff Resto (705 total) 162 on 14 carries and fullback Ray Melnikoff (5-10, 210, 1057 total) blasting ahead for 106 yards on 10 carries. Double threat Jeffrey Rolka makes them difficult to defend with 778 yards passing and 498 rushing. They’ll play Halifax who came back with a fourth quarter touchdown to edge Muncy 19-18. This was a dead even game with Muncy (9-4) rushing for 169 yards to Halifax’s 171. They don’t pass much up there with Muncy throwing for 107 yards and the Wildcats at 98 yards. But Qb London Johnson was efficient, completing 11 of 15 passes and can zing it when needed, throwing for 1698 yards at 56%. Tyler Berzowski rushed for 92 yards on 16 carries in a very hard fought game. West Virginia bound Broc Grosser caught a 39 yard touchdown pass. In winning, Halifax overcame Muncy’s outstanding line that featured Donovan Diehl 5-10 225, Dakota Hauesien 6-1 235, Josiah Meza 5-10 225, Coty Steele 6-2 250 and Mason Hillman 6-0 290. That’s probably a once in 10 year occasion in Muncy with a population of 2678.
District 6 Final
Juniata Valley 10-2 vs United 9-4….2.22 Juniata Valley

After being hammered by powerful Bishop Guilfoyle teams the last two years, losing by 58 and 49 points, the Hornets finally got their revenge, beating the Marauders 9-3. Guilfoyle won the Single-A title in 2014 (16-0), 2015 (16-0) and 2016 (15-0), before going 12-1 losing to Homer Center in 2017. Awesome stuff! But now it’s Juniata Valley going for District-6 gold and more, winning tight playoff games against Claysburg Kimmel two weeks ago, 21-20, then Guilfoyle last week, holding them to 214 total yards and 11 first downs. Qb Quinn Zinobile had most of their total yardage (209) completed 7 of 12 passes for 73 yards and rushing for another 81. They move on to play United who eliminated Northern Cambria 36-28 in overtime. United stopped the Colts at the one inch line to prevent a second overtime and avenge a season opening 43-14 loss to NC. Freshman Benjamin Tomb stepped in for Kyle Silk out with the flu, completing 5 of 6 passes while sophomore Hunter Cameron went over 2000 yards rushing with 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. So how about United in the district final, following a 2-4 start, getting their revenge and winning their last 7 games.
District 10 champ vs District 9 champ
Farrell 12-0 vs Coudersport 8-4….17.72 Farrell

Farrell blitzed poor Shade, scorching them for 56 points in the first half. This resulted in a running clock with both sides agreeing to play 8 minute quarters in the second half. So that’s where it ended at 56-8 as it was at the half. Qb Kyi Wright completed all 5 passes for 104 yards with Christian Lewis gaining 191 yards on 17 carries, taking his season total to 1922 yards, a Farrell record. Jaden Harrison added 84 yards on 11 carries as the Steelers rolled out 376 yards rushing while holding Shade to 23. Shade didn’t help their cause with 2 fumbles and 4 interceptions. Farrell will play Coudersport in the quarterfinal, after the Falcons avenged a 21-20 regular season defeat to Smethport by crushing them in the playoffs 44-7. They also evened the score for two other regular season losses, beating Redbank Valley 52-7 and Clarion Limestone 22-12 in the playoffs on what some were calling their revenge tour. Steve Kelly upped his season total to 1744 rush yards after gauging Smethport for 328 yards on 26 carries. Coudy is on fire but it will take a performance they have yet to show to defeat Farrell.
District 7-WPIAL champ Out Lady of the Sacred Heart 12-1….bye
Freaky good team with one slip at Jeannette (11-1), 28-13 with wins against powerhouses Rochester (11-2) 37-8 and again in the playoffs 28-6, and Clairton (9-2) 27-7. Score 41ppg allow 7 with a team stocked with veteran and senior leadership.
