Hard work beats talent,
when talent doesn't work hard.....just a little foreshadowing!

These are rankings by Maxpreps on the "medium" school category.

Wood very well might be #8, then again they might be #58 at this point for all we know. Popularity contest and the teams that routine win get the higher slots before a game is even played. Not Wood's fault, but nature of the beast.

On paper, Imhotep has a stronger team and they aren't in this top 25.

Also, the caption said they returned 6 starters on each side of the ball. That's inaccurate. They return three on defense, well, probably only two if Cruel transfer rumors are true (Schwartz & Silva). On offense they return four and even that's a stretch because two of those are WRs and AW used two TE sets often last year. Full-time starters include; Russo, Stengel, and Webb. You can throw in WR Gillespie as a 4th if you like.

From the beach...
Freeman, Barret and Heck all were starters on defense! Depending on the color "D" they were in! This team is in their 2 year cycle of underclassman play! Slow churn til 2016!

Ok, yea they were contributors......I do recall Freeman starting games for the most part.

Just saying that Cooper, Rubin, Cobb, Lohin, Bates, Cruel, McClenton, and Panera were pretty much full-time guys, only 11 can start.

Regardless, AW is still going to be a top team.

Except for the monster programs who've been doing it for years like Trin-Euless, Hoover, STA, De LA Salle,....don't they often back-fit it, noticing the likes of Wood a year after the fact?

What caught pollsters eyes in my view was beating one of the those so called "monster" schools in DeMatha. Last year's team was arguably a better 8 than this year's but who knows?

#8 national rank. Why not challenge yourself with a tougher non league schedule LOL

Archbishop Wood is a national program the ranking based on the reputation. The most dominant program in PA, so the ranking based on reputation. To FBU82 comment, Hard Work beats Talent when talent doesn't work hard. Who says talent isn't working hard. On paper, the keyword is on Paper If you break down all positions from
Qb, RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, CB And Saf Tep has the advantage except at QB. Coaching is a still mate, but I guess any given Saturday
