Feel free to add.

A couple things stand out. Will CB-East have lights this season? Their website says all night games. They open up against Ridley and Neshaminy. Schedule can be found here:

https://www.cbeastfootball.org/

Neshaminy opens up at home against Archbishop Wood. Don't recall seeing that mentioned. With the recent SOL realignment, neither Rock is on their schedule, just seems a little strange to an old school LBCL guy.

https://neshaminyfootball.com/

Should be interesting seeing New Hope-Solebury make the leap to the SOL.

https://nhslions.org/main/teamschedule/id/3751674/seasonid/4521612

Eastern PA Football has a few schedules up, but mostly in D11.

Kudos to Neshaminy for scheduling Wood instead of the CR schools, who are, no doubt, looking for opponents since the realignment. I'm really not a fan of the SOL just juggling the other teams in the two other conferences to fill their OOC schedule.
Pennridge will open at Downingtown East. I like it.

I was more referring to CR not being in the same conference as Neshaminy, where they would be automatically be on the schedule.
Neshaminy's non-league games are Wood, Souderton and Quakertown. Pennsbury's non-league includes Academy Park, Truman and Upper Dublin.

Thanks relayer, forgot about this.

I imagine NPenn is the favorite in the National. Bucks West had a tremendous season last year; how they lookin? Abington did a nice job last year. Can Neshaminy or Pennsbury make a run?

National and Continental teams only have 1 non league game. Neshaminy has wood but souderton and Quakertown are their cross flex game. They didn’t choose to play them the league did. That all depends on what place you finish in.

Relayer, I understand what you were saying. Maybe I wasn't very clear.
My issue is with the SOL teams playing (basically) the same opponents regardless of what conference they are in.

They didn’t choose to play them the league did. That all depends on what place you finish in.

I hate this. I understand it makes scheduling easier as all teams are looking to fill their schedules, especially after realignment. But, I just want to see these schools reach out to non SOL schools for OOC games. Let's make an agreement with D3 or D11 for "crossover" games. Hell, I'll take the Pac10 or Chesmont. The SOL is a bore. I'm just looking for something different than the norm and I don't think I'm alone on this.

D1 wanted to take over all scheduling so that they could schedule non league games with teams from different conferences. I think coaches wanted to be able to pick their own opponents. I guess the happy medium for SOL was that the coaches get to pick one non league game.

Amen! If the Mid Penn and Ches Mont can work it out so can the SOL...…..IF...…..they want to! Seeing Harrisburg and Cumberland Valley battle Coatesville has been fun and beneficial to the programs. Shouldn't it be fun; it's a game, right?

The past couple years there were only 7 teams in a conference. That meant 4 non-league games. Even with 2 crossover games that still left two out of league opponents. I don't think D11 even gets one non-league game. They do one cross-over game and get right into league play.

It would be great if the Prep could play at least one of their games against high-profile teams from out of the region in the Philly area.

What high profile teams will play SJP? Neshaminy plays Wood, NP always plays LaSalle. Coatesville has recently played Harrisburg and Cumberland Valley from D3. Who is left in D1 to give Prep a challenge?

Relayer, I said it would be great if SJP could play one of their games against teams from outside the region at a location in Philly--rather than playing them all on the road or at a "neural site" like Rutgers. St. Peter's Prep, Bosco, St. Joe's Regional, St. Ignatius of Cleveland, and Good Counsel of DC have all come to play them in Philly, and I'd like to see that happen again at least once next year. That said, I'd also be happy to see them play a strong InterAc team or any team in the eastern part of the state or in South Jersey that looks particularly strong.

Ok Tulla, now I understand. We never seem to get any east-west match-ups either. Would like to see a Cathedral Prep or a Pine-Richland play teams from our area to start the year.

Agreed, Relayer. Interesting to remember that SJP played PCC and Wood played Gateway (I think) in regular season games not so very long ago.

Maybe SOL has been like this for a long time but until you see the conferences, I didn't realize how bad the SOL league is / has become. The American and Continental conferences are just horrendous.

District I is setting up enough league games and doing their best to eliminate games from outside the district and with private schools.
Scrimmages outside the district will still take place. PCL schools will especially the bottom feeders will have to work hard to fill their schedules.

Relayer, we tried to get an East vs. West Pa matchups in AA, AAA and AAAA about 7 years ago on week one at either PW or out in Pittsburgh. The hardest part was trying to convince The WPIAL back then of starting with non conference games.

I don't remember Wood and Gateway but if I stand corrected North Penn attempted to get a two year gig with Gateway about 8 years ago.

A week one delight last year would be Southern Columbia play up for a change a play someone like Wood or Cheltenham.

I made a mistake. It was PCC that Wood played in 2011; PCC won by three.

Wood got hosed in that game. Long lightning delay helped PCC. Plus Woods FG was good but refs said wide. Total bs when you watch replay. Just saying

16th and I have had many conversations about this game. That might have been the best Wood team ever and one of the best overall in the past decade across the state. Unfortunately you won't get anyone west of the Susquehanna to agree. That game against PCC had a lot of screwy circumstances. Then again if Wood played up, they could of had their revenge in Hershey.

Wood at Skins to start the season! Any chance the Skins can eek out a win while the Central Bucks All-stars adjust to a new coach?

Whippets at Garnet Valley - Whippets lost a ton, but do bring back some real solid talent. Not sure they'll take down GV 42-19 again. Who replaces Will Howard?

Pennridge at Dtown East - How do the Rams look in 2020? Who starts at QB for the Cougars? East also playing State College in Week 2.

CB West at Coatesville - Any chance West can sneak up on the Red Raiders and their new QB? Some classic games between these two powers.

LaSalle at NP - Seems like these two play every year.

We just need this damn virus to clear out to enjoy all of these great games!

50% chance at best. The decision of the NCAA will have some influence.

Hard to comprehend the full impact of no football in the Fall:
  • Are 2021 kids able to stay in school another year? Will they want to?
  • How will NCAA handle roster sizes if football is furloughed for a full season?
  • In place of actual games/team activities, will other types of football "events" be held?
