I don’t follow Wood too closely, but I attended the game last night due to not many great games in the area. Wood’s numbers and size are certainly down. Looking at their roster, they are extremely young. By my count, they started 3 seniors on offense and 2 seniors on defense. They were down eight points going into the 4th quarter, but Wood never seemed to grab the momentum or really get into a rhythm. Granted, Peddie was extremely big and talented. Some of their players looked like they could be playing on a Division 1 college. Peddie would be a force to be reckoned with if they were in the PIAA or Inter-Ac. I think Wood has a chance in a “wide-open” 5A classification.
From what I’ve seen, Prep runs away with the Catholic League (shocking). I think LaSalle may keep it close one of the games, but not win. Wood versus LaSalle should fairly competitive, but I think LaSalle ends up pulling away for a two TD win. From looking at other PCL scores, the rest of the Red Division appears to be extremely down. I actually think the Blue Division is much more intriguing (I attended West Catholic versus Lansdale Catholic today and it was a heck of a game). However, I defer to Huck on all things PCL related.
