That's a shame. Guys like KBerg and Rick O'Brien are a dying breed. The HS sports coverage in our area is terrible, and it's sad. Newspapers need to spend their money promoting the good that HS sports provides for so many. Instead they have articles on garbage.

I too wish there was more and better coverage, but newspapers (and AM radio) are increasingly in a financial bind. They won't spend money on something unless it draws enough readers/listeners and the particular kind of readers/listeners that will attract advertisers. How many people go to or listen to HS football games compared to 10 or 20 years ago?
