Once Infante bolts for Texas, who amongst the coaching ranks would replace him. Any top names come to mind?

I don't believe he will feel as though his job is done at St. Joes until they are #1 in the country.

One rumor floating around is...he was taking Delaware job with malvern head coach as OC...

If he was to leave.. I can think of one guy who could take them to #1.. Beck

Rumor. Gradual progression. Top 10 team in country. State championships . Not much left to accomplish. Stepping stone time. Maybe smaller program step rather than big splash. How about Nova?

This is all supposition. While the coach may leave for a better opportunity for his family, it would be about that first and foremost, the winning is secondary. He has a vocation and passion for having a positive influence on the students and players. He does this because the coaching is the medium for that.

I don't know the man personally but you coach to win especially at a school like that .
As far as cyo said #1 in the country not happening there they would have to recruit nationally not just locally and other national programs have better facilities like Bishop Gorman
IMG academy,st thomas aquinas the large texas and cali schools .It might be time to go with swift leaving players like that are hard to find .

I totally agree with you. I don't think he could make them #1 in the country. I was just saying that I believe that reaching #1 in the country is his goal.

Remind me again why the PIAA believes teams like SJP and District 1 teams are playing on a level playing field?

Here we go....yawn

Let's be objective. So this is the best NP team in years, THEE model program in D1, but most on this forum say they will lose by 3 TD's or more to SJP. Hmmmm.......

My question is why does Imhotep only play at 4A? Don't give me enrollment (yea, big deal they are 3A and playing up). When they mercy rule everyone going to Hershey who will say, "wow, another great tournament set up by the PIAA". If they do meet ECP again, I hope they crush them. That is one Prep I never root for.

This thread really wasn't about the private versus public thing. That said I would say that prep has one of their best teams as well and that I don't think that north penn loses to prep by three TDs. That game will still be played.

Coach Infante has just issued press release this morning via satellite from his office at SJP, the following is an excerpt from that press conference:

"There have been a lot of speculation as to my status here at SJP, I'd like to make several things quite clear,

1) I have not been contacted by the University of Alabama regarding the Head Coaching position
2) I am the Head Football Coach at SJP and a plan on doing that job as I have been contracted and committed to do so.
3) My family loves the local area although they find the barbed-wire a bit of a hindrance when they visit me on campus.
4) I don't know how many times I have to say it, I will not be the next Head coach at the University of Alabama.
5) I did not or have ever had relations with that women Ms. Lewinski, now that's the end of it!! Now I need to get back to work for SJP and the American people!

Thank you all for coming today, glad you had so much interest in talking about this weekend's game instead of all this rumor and innuendo stuff"....
