No time this week guys but here are the teams still running hot, in the midst of at least a 4 game winning streak.
D3
Red Lion 6A 6-0; After New Oxford where they’ll name it it’s a tough finish at Central York, Spring Grove both 4-2 and Dallastown at 5-1.
Governor Mifflin 5A 5-1, 5 Straight after the debacle at Wilson and will likely win out. 1-5 Muhlenberg is next and the Muhlies are hurting allowing 41ppg!
Harrisburg 5A 5-1; Averaging 44ppg since opening loss to bitter rival McDevitt.
Cocalico 5A 4-2; 4 and 7 point losses to quality teams was something of a thud til getting everyone’s attention beating Manheim Central in Manheim 28-24!
Shippensburg 4A 6-0; Ship is a trip this year far exceeding expectations with 3 of remaining 4 on the road ending with the Bulldogs of Big Spring to settle the thing; Mid Penn-Colonial.
York Suburban 4A 4-2; Nothing special except winning 4 straight since losing to Northeastern 49-7.
Milton Hershey 4A 5-1; Scandal and intrigue at the top with the Board but it’s not bothering these guys beating everyone since opening with a hard fought 19-13 loss to CD East.
Big Spring 4A 5-1; Got smacked around in the opener at East Pennsboro 49-21 before taking it out on everyone the last 5. Only 3-3 but Waynesboro is next and will tell us something about these guys.
Middletown 3A 6-0; Passed a big test last week beating previously undefeated Palmyra and cannot lighten up at 4-2 Camp Hill Friday.
Wyomissing 3A 4-2; Season turned around when they won at Blue Mountain 28-14 who (for linkage purposes) had just defeated Inter-Ac Springside CHA 21-14.
Newport 2A 7-0; Beat a nice Juniata team last week over in District 6 but no letup this week with Line Mountain 5-2 in town for a big Tri-Valley game.
D5
Conemaugh Twp 1A 7-0; Here’s a legit Single-A if scores and vids mean anything. Tip off was beating perennial power Berlin Brothersvalley (one word) two weeks ago and those 4 consecutive shutouts.
D6
State College 6A 6-0; State High said “here we are” with the 20-16 win last week over Cumberland Valley, staking a claim as top dog in the powerful Mid Penn Commonwealth. Shouldn’t get cocky at the East High Panthers of Central Dauphin….the other Central Dauphin….where the Eastie boys can upset.
Johnstown 4A 7-0; J-town better buckle up for their next opponent, Bishop McCort (6-1) and are lucky to get them in Johnstown because they’re on a roll. The Double-A Crimson Crushers have won 4 straight and have quite a tradition of beating the big boys.
Bishop Guilfoyle 1A 7-0, Defending state champ Bishop Guilfoyle is the only team to beat McCort (31-14), getting their shot at Johnstown in 2 weeks. Otherwise the Marauders run out beginning with Central Cambria Saturday.
Portage 1A 6-1; Guess where you had to carry your canoe overland between two bodies of water? They have a tough game with 6-1 Berlin this week whose only loss is to Conemaugh Twp down in District 5….shown above in D5.
Ligonier Valley 2A 7-0; The Rams have outscored opponents 383 to 18. That’s an average score of 55-3. Guess there’s no women to chase up there, all that energy? Got a forfeit this week with Blairsville.
Bellwood Antis 2A 6-1; The Blue Devils’ only loss came in the opener to the machine over at Tyrone (15-12) who for them, are struggling through a 4-3 season. Not BA, who has run off 6 wins since then while allowing but 53 points, or 9ppg. They’ll run out if they get past Mount Union Friday in Bellwood.
D9
Brockway 2A 7-0; Got past a tough Elk County Catholic team last week 30-25 who was coming off a hard one against undefeated Kane (7-0), the same Kane team Brockway will have to face after Bradford this weekend to decide the Southern Division of the Allegheny Mountain FB League.
Karns City 3A 6-1; The Gremlins only loss was in the opener to the powerful Riverhawks of Armstrong 35-22. Undefeated Clarion is next but they get them at home.
Clarion 2A 5-0; KC should be a tough one for Clarion coming off their Homecoming win against Redbank Valley.
D10
McDowell 6A 4-2; Won 4 straight since losing to rival Cathedral 31-14. At home to Austintown Fitch-OH who’s 4-3.
Grove City 5A 7-0; Doesn’t look like they have a challenge until the team below from Meadville.
Meadville 5A 5-2; 4 an 8 point losses at the top of the season separate them from perfection and they’re looking good, good enough to beat Grove City in two weeks.
Cathedral 4A 7-0; Blowing everyone out without a challenge until the final at Canisius-NY for a severe challenge.
Hickory 3A 7-0; Looks like Streak vs Streak with Wilmington up next.
Iroquois 2A 7-0; Like Cathedral, Hickory and Wilmington, the Braves are blowing people’s doors off, averaging 44ppg.
West Middlesex 1A 5-3; Turned an 0-3 start to this, winning the tight ones; 7. 3. 14, 5 and 2.

North Allegheny 6A 5-2; Won 4 straight and may run out with Seneca Valley, Hempfield and Pine Richland left.
West Allegheny 5A 6-0; 4 shutouts and only 23 points allowed says this is a special group, especially the way they beat USC handily.
McKeesport 5A 5-1; Won 4 straight against a vanilla schedule. But that all changes in the final 3 games playing USC, Gateway and Penn Trafford.
Franklin Regional 5A 4-2; At 4-2 but should have beat McKeesport in the opener (14-7). Final two against North Hills and Gateway will make or break them.
South Fayette 4A 7-0; Already have wins against Central Valley and Mars with no team left on the schedule who should beat them.
Thomas Jefferson 4A 6-0; The 2 teams below, Belle Vernon and West Mifflin are what TJ has to look forward too.
Belle Vernon 4A 6-0; Same for the Leopards, TJ and West Mifflin.
West Mifflin 4A 7-0; The Titans have the toughest row to hoe. Apart from playing the aforementioned two, they play Ringgold 4-2, who has already been rocked by Belle Vernon and TJ but you never know. Can’t look ahead with teams fighting for seeds.
Beaver Falls 3A 5-1; 5 straight wins since disaster at Aliquippa but now have to finish with Central Valley 6-1, Hopewell 5-2 and Beaver 5-1.
Derry 3A 7-0; The Trojans might get there with Ellwood City and Waynesburg Central, both 0-6 up next.
Apollo Ridge 3A 5-2; No walk in the park with Keystone Oaks 5-1 and 4-2 Valley lurking.
Steel Valley 2A 6-0; Tough finish to a strong season playing three of the top teams in The Three Rivers Conference; East Allegheny 5-2, Serra 4-3 and a scrappy Brentwood team at 5-1.
Brentwood 2A 5-1; Only loss was to East Allegheny early in the season 21-12.
Chartiers Houston 2A 6-1; Nothing special but 5 straight is 5 straight. Loss was to Jeannette 59-14!
Washington 2A 6-0: The Prexies have a hard one Friday at Chartiers-Houston (6-1) but can make a big statement in the Century with a win. Washington is the better team with a powerful offense scoring 46ppg supported by a defense allowing 9. Road wins are tough this time of year but that’s good stuff, good enough to pull out the win.
Neshannock 2A 6-1; Only loss was to Quaker Valley by 5. Inter Conference action saw them whip East Allegheny (5-2) 50-22.
Clairton 1A 6-0; The bad ass Bears look unstoppable after beating Aliquippa last week 52-16.
Fort Cherry 1A 6-0; Looks like the game at Carmichaels October 21st decides the issue in the Tri County South.
Carmichaels 1A 5-1; The loss was at Our Lady of Sacred Heart (4-2, 1A Big 7) 45-28.
Jeannette 1A 7-0; Something special here beating teams like East Allegheny 42-7 and Chartiers-Houston 59-14.
Rochester 1A 6-0; Got past two serious road blocks the last two weeks, Northgate and Our Lady of Sacred Heart. Northgate was undefeated and OLSH was on a 4 game winning streak.
