What games will you be present at this weekend?

MDW will be at Crawford to see the Knights take on DT East. Should be a good one in Lansdale!!!

Perkasie, to see my Redskins tangle with the Rams of Pennridge. This should be a real good game. Pennridge's tough defense led by that terrific linebacking corps against Neshaminy's explosive spread attack.
MDW, that game looks good too. I expect the Knights will win it pretty solidly though.
The Pennsbury - LaSalle game is interesting to me as well. It should say a lot about both teams.

Pennsbury trying to replace Alley, Hose, Daly, Snyder, others, and Coach Snyder. Will take time. Even a weak Lasalle should win by 2 TD's+. 21-7 LS. Madden with another 200 yds..

Will be at NP-DTE enjoying Friday night lights.. Also like to see how the pennridge QB does the Skins D

I will hopefully be at Crawford Stadium to see the Knights and Cougars. If not I will be tuned into 1440 to listen. Hopefully my Knights can build momentum.

North Penn/ Downingtown East is a great early matchup between two District 1 powerhouses. However, I think Coatesville vs. District 3 powerhouse Cumberland Vallley maybe just as entertaining and I dont have to drive all the way to Landsdale. CV, a state semifinalist last year, should be an excellent early season test for the Red Raiders. Would also like to take in the first installment of the "Battle for West Chester" tonight. Unfortunately, Ill be at back to school night. Can someone keep me posted.

Chesmont,

What is your take on East and how do you see this game playing out?
I haven't seen North Penn this year and they are the best in the SOL over the last 15-20 years. Based on the one game I saw Dtown East is going to better than I thought. The D has a very good line w two good pass rushers. They also looked good stopping the run. The d secondary is also very good w Jennings, Ethan Harris and Brassier Stocker (Coatesvile transfer) at safety. No judgement on linebackers as a whole but the middle looked solid. West at RB was main thorn against DEast last year. With Jennings against Johns (2 D1 recruits) and no West for NP I think this could be a good one. East has the horses again on Oline and most guys go 1 way. Lauletta looked good 12-15 in first half and seemed to gain confidence as the game rolled on. These are two heavy weights and I expect a battle vs what Iron Marshall thinks (come on down Iron and watch a Chesmont war). I may be biased but thought Matta was out coached in the NP game (not out muscled as our idiot local writers seem to think). East d was out of position and guessing the second game. Beck is one of the best. I'm just hoping to see a great game. Good luck to both teams.

Thank for the insight. Seems the Knights better not overlook this one. East is almost always tough even on down years. Who did they lose from last years squad?

Cary Angeline 6'7' TE signed w Southern Cal and Big Mike Clark 6'8' offensive tackle signed w Syracuse. They lost middle linebacker Brody Wilson to Yale for a lax scolly, Healy - QB went on a lax scolly and RB - Kinkade - no clue. Bunch of other kids graduated. As Relayer knows me I'm a big Coatesville fan (winningest district 1 football team). DEast is a power w o team speed and wins that Cville has. Matt's has a program w big lineman and 80-90 kids year in and out the 12 years it's been open.

MD Warrior Man, Harrisburg looking bleak for Central Dauphin-Manheim Twp tonight. Life got in the way but definitely home weekend of 16th to see CD kick Wilson's ass. Seriously it will be a typical Rams-Bulldog brawl, a Harrisburg street fight settled by 3 to 7 points.
With Chester, Interboro, Ridley, Academy Park, Strath Haven, O'Hara and now St. Joe's all playing within 15 minutes of Ridley I'll catch a good one somewhere!

I really don't know a lot about either DTE or NP this year. Call my prediction a gut thing based on some small bits of information. NP beating LaSalle is a statement. We just don't know how good LaSalle is this year, so we don't know how much of a statement. Given the recent history and reputation of LaSalle, I think they still are a higher end program, near the top of the food chain. So that has me thinking that NP is pretty good. Plus LaSalle's D is considered by most to be of high quality, If this is in fact so, NPs O must be pretty good.
My impression of DTE may be faulty. I see them as a big strong tough team, whose weakness is a lack of team speed. I may be wrong, but that is my perception. If they do lack team speed, especially in the secondary, Udinski will have his way with them tossing the ball to Johns, who is a very high end talent, Hendley, and Hubler who are both quality fast receivers. That is why I think NP wins solidly. But again I am prepared to be very wrong.
I love it when two quality teams line up across from each other and we have several of those games tonight. The game I am going to Neshaminy at Pennridge is one such game. I expect a real backyard brawl and hope Neshaminy's speed and skill can counter Pennridge's great (big and tough) LB corps led D.

Think I'll be strolling under the light's and the VA for the Ville and CV contest.
CV is almost in a full rebuild but always well coached and relevant. So is Coatesville on both counts so no surprises here if C-ville wins. I expect they will as they re on CV's level now....so long as Coach Ortega is there.
