Neither Wood or Cathedral Prep volunteered to play up. Both classed as 4A.

I have heard Cathedral Prep will be moved up because of the success factor rule. Anyone know about Wood?

In District 1 the noteable changes:

Lower Merion is now 6A football (Jesus.. they are awful and will the Central make them play the full 6A slate?)
Hatboro is 5A
Pope John Paul 2 is 4A (take note Pottsgrove and Shanahan)

Where is southern Columbia? about to play again in state title game, whitewash everyone, mercy rule by halftime..doesn't seem fair to team they are playing or frankly themselves, cant feel good pasting everyone. Do they not have to move up or take onus themselves and play up, better competition.

Teams go "up" for different reasons. Berks Catholic wanted to take on a tougher slate a few years ago and did AFTER moving to 4A. Central Dauphin et al wanted to play them as they usually (not this year) have strong teams...a good non-conf test but little gain point wise, in fact the opposite. So they moved to 4A to keep the tougher teams on their schedule and CD agreed to play them.

Tough call on SCA but I hear you. Enrollment is 149!....and this years team is weirdly talented with those skill players, players they don't have every year. What public school does! But they have an extraordinary system that seems to guarantee success with this year's team a good eg by playing next year's team for a half this year (in ordinary years playing 4th qtr), allowing you to hit the ground running in 2020; off season programs, JV's, etc. Quit a system, like the ancient Spartans almost, with all on same page.

Weirdly talented most years stalker. I hear ya, was just wondering..seems like a powerhouse for last 22 years from looking at your great research. Love to watch them though, well coached, disciplined..nothing fancy. Would like to see them up a level, like Wood several years ago who could've hung at 6 A in devlin years. Looks like he got out as things have dried up but in final yet again. Interested to see them tonight at 7 vs Cheltenham.
