3-0 and 115 point scored vs 0 allowed is beyond impressive in any league. UD tore through the playoffs last year but looking for posters thoughts on this years team? I noticed opponents records was a combined 2 wins and 10 losses. How will they stack up against 5A leaders in Academy Park, Marple Newtown, Springfield, Great Valley and Shanahan?

Upper Dublin lost to P-W 24-21. I don't see anyone in D1 being remotely competitive against Wood, and that will be another east final massacre.

Hence the need for a Non Public school division. High School hockey has figured this out and everyone seems happy with the setup, they are not governed by the PIAA.

???
PA high school Hockey Championships are not governed by the PIAA, but they are competed for by both Public and non-Public.

In different

http://epiha.pointstreaksites.com/view/epiha/2016-brackets/2016-flyers-cup-aaa Non Public schools are grouped in AAA. AA and A are public schools grouped by size.
Joe,
Not sure I'm getting your point of distinction?

LaSalle has won 5 State Championships in Ice Hockey, They have beaten and have lost to public and non-public school teams during that time. Off the top of my head, western pubs North Allegheny, Bethel Park , Peters township and Upper St. Clair come to mind.

Dude, at least in eastern Pa, those who run HS hockey recognize the advantages non public schools
have and gave them a separate path to a state championship separate from the public schools. It doesn't mean they are always better than the top public teams. That's my point. When it becomes "unusual" for a public school to win a state championship, something is wrong.

"DDDuuuuuddde"....
I could only imagine the level of education maybe somewhat strained here..

You site the example of the PA State Hockey Championships, recent title holders (last ~5-6 yrs) in AAA run contrary to your point regarding "unusual".

Be well...

This was your original point of reference my friend, from this morning. Either you've been non-compliant with the Aricept and Namenda doses or the inverse Mensa society has a new member?

This is tiring, good day..

Three classifications would work just fine, NonPublic, Big Public and Small Public. How fair is it for a Springfield or an Upper Dublin to go up against Wood? Not very
Yes, Wood is very good right now, so what! If you can't beat them you look to avoid them?? That is a great "Life Lesson" !! Wood will eventually come back to earth, all schools do! They have something that is working great right now, so instead of trying to improve yourself you look to isolate them so you can have a "State Title", you are really pathetic!! Since you are a Ridley guy, and using your mentality why is Ridley playing Harriton this week? Seriously, this game will not be competitive.

Darn,

I thought this thread was about UD. Another good thread hijacked by pubs vs private age old tired conversation.

I've seen UD a couple of times. Yes, the competition wasn't great, but they are well coached and playing solid football. I do suspect they will have problems getting by AW.

I don't believe UD will win District 1 , 5A.

Life lesson to be learned is the Golden Rule. The one with the most gold makes the rules. Even in an elitist sport such as ice hockey, leaders were able to recognize and reconcile unfair groupings of schools. If a private school chooses to become a national power in a sport, they have the means to achieve that goal.
You gotta stop. You've contradicted yourself repeatedly and you've extended the definition of ambiguous, not to mention now that you're exhibiting an inferiority complex. Please take your meds and make sure the blow up rat doesn't have any holes.

LOL. It's no longer the blow up rat. It's the fat cat in a suit with a big ring!!!

Just because District 12 was added to the PIAA, this does not mean there has to be a proportionate appearance for District 1 to the championship. If you want to apply statistics then Harriton should beat Ridley a equal proportionate amount of times that Ridley beats Harriton.

i thought this thread was going to be about how Upper Dublin said no to playing Archbishop Ryan this week. UD was suppose to play Springfield-M and AR had their game cancelled by Prep Charter. UD says no. Yea, because always good to take away an opportunity for kids to play another game. Rather take their 100-point forfeit win. That's weak.

That makes two open dates for Upper D. Both dates easy could have been filled.
And now the new alignment for District 1 is coming into view. There will be no leeway.
Cross over games are done.
