All signs point to Paul Chryst being the latest coach to leave Pittsburgh.

Some interesting names are being rumored. Will this affect any of their class of 2015 commitments? Specifically the Pennsylvania kids.

Will Pitt still attract big time candidates? One 10-win season in 30 years. Lost at least 5 games in 8 of the last ten seasons. Haven't finished the season ranked in five years.

Recruiting Western PA against Urban Meyer and a PSU coach who actually leaves campus isn't going to be easy either.

Thoughts?

If I'm a Pitt fan, I'm keeping an eye on happens and how it'll effect the verbal committment of Jordan Whitehead. There were a lot of rumors about Jordan Whitehead possibly de-committing but after the game on Saturday night, he said wasn't de-committing. He also added that he was no longer planning to enroll early. Either way, definitely not a good look for Pitt.

Pitt is looking at becoming Temple West if they don't get it together. With Franklin to the East & Urban to the West, they are in big trouble keeping up unless they get a dynamic coach. My two cents-they should look to an experienced coach who is not looking to jump to the next job. Unfortunately, Pitt has now become the job before THE job for coaches.

A bigger potential threat beyond OSU-PSU to me would be Pitt's old rival West Va....and the Big 12. How exciting playing in that conference against TCU, Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma et al verses the boring Big 10. Granted, Meyer is the draw now but things could change with the right man in Morgantown.

Pittsburgh has let go of their athletic director, Steve Pederson.

Seems Pretty obvious Chryst leaving and Pederson out are related.

So, do they hire the AD first and then the coach or vice versa? (Unless they hired an AD and I missed it.)

They need a coach in place to hold on to what was a pretty nice recruiting class Chryst was putting together.

Some names I'm hearing as candidates are Greg Schiano, Tom Bradley, Doc Holliday, Pat Narduzzi, Joe Rudolph and a few others.
