Just as the Tea Bag party took over the Republicans or at least gained enough control as to create conflicts, the Democrats face the same thing from the extreme left who think they're not being heard. Both the Dems and the Repubs are not what they used to be just 20 short years ago. Now the centrists of both parties are not being heard. They're being corralled. And another example of it getting out of control is the victory Ocasio-Cortez won in the NY primary. Is this women for real? Free state college tuition, free medical, basically open borders, etc...! Where does she call for open borders? If Republicans would just agree to punish companies who employ illegal workers half the already dwindling problem would be solved.

College tuition and medical would come from our tax dollars. I'm on board. Most of the other advanced countries are doing it with success. America continues to be the only country in the world where you can lose everything if you get sick enough.

So it's cradle to grave? That's what you want the US government to do? After all that the gov't has gotten wrong on their own, you want them to figure that out?? I could see maybe the healthcare. But the college education? Sorry, I put my kids through college and am paying for it now. I'm not paying for someone else's kid. If you can't afford them, don't have them. Simple.

I am not a fan of free college education either. My son will be attending UNC Chapel Hill in the fall and I am paying but he had the grades and test scores to get in if not he would have needed to go down to his local recruiter and join the service. And while I am on that , that is how I payed my college tuition the good ole GI Bill

Then you have to drain the swamp. Look, whether you want to believe it or not, the Democrats are as guilty of waste as the Republicans. I like "Scranton" Joe but don't forget he was a US Senator since 1972 before taking the VP job. So as much as I like him, he was part of the overall problem. He is one of the reasons we now stand where we do. Term limits!! In the olden days, a rep or senator whould serve his two terms and go back to his real job (farming, construction, etc.) Now their only job is politics. That's not the way it was supposed to be.

That's just your left leaning side talking. If you take a look at how many have resigned in the past two years and the newcomers who are going to be running in the midterms, I would say that the Swamp is taking a major hit. Now whether you like how it's being done, with most of the resignees saying they've had it with Trump, maybe he is doing what he said he was going to do. They all came into power when things were hunky dory with how Congress worked in Washington. If Trump did nothing else, at least he rattled their cages to the point where they didn't want to play anymore!!

Here in Pennsylvania, our Senior Senator, Bob Casey, is running for re-election. Before the campaign season started, when was the last time you heard a peep out of him. You talk about a do nothing sleeping pill who has lived off his father's reputation for the last 12 years!! His father was a good man who took on the Democratic party head on and paid the price for it.
