just wanted to say congrats to players that made the SOL All-League team.. and if anyone on this board has a family member or friends son (or daughter NP's kicker) who made the team congrats...

I guess it's time for my annual rant with the SOL. Folks, they put 108 names on the Continental Conference all-league team. Think about that, there are only 7 teams in the entire conference. That would be roughly 325 for the entire league. Couldn't they add 75 more and make it an even 400?

green beans, I'm all for honoring the players who truly deserve it. It's a great recognition and looks good on the resume. However, can they just have a first and second team and then end it? It's way, way too watered down.

Actually.. I read it wrong.. at first I thought it was "All-SOL" not just one conf..

I agree with both of you.. just make it first per conf and maybe 1 & 2 if you combined all three..

Yeah Beans - I read your posts and bet when you played you had no face masks and everyone did not get a trophy!

Sorry gents, but I have to disagree with you. In my opinion, listing players on the Second or Third Teams, or Honorable Mention, does not detract from the great honor of being named First Team. First Team is First Team no matter what else comes after. But remember, these are still 16 to 18-year-old kids, not old-timers like us, and seeing their name listed, even as Honorable Mention, is a big deal to most of them. If you want to stop reading the list after the First Team, by all means do so, but I guarantee all the kids that didn't make First Team keep reading to the bottom.

A True All Suburban One All League encompasses the 3 Conferences with 1st Team, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention is a great option. That stat about Souderton is absurd.

Let's be completely forthcoming here: only TWO Souderton kids made First Team, which sounds about right based on their record. Only four made Second Team, the rest made Third and HM. First Team is First Team, HM is HM, everyone knows there is a big difference. Stop reading after the First Team if you want. But let the other kids have their level of recognition. Just don't understand why that bothers anyone. No trophies, just a bit of recognition that they can walk away with.
