What is the seating situation like there? Please tell me there is more seating than PW, or does District One continue to put great events in crappy venues?

Considering D11 uses BASD Stadium, this site is an embarrassment.

Relayer,

My son and his buddies are coming down to the game. Can you give me any parking tips? Doesn't look like there is a lot of room in the parking lots.

Is it because of the PIAA requiring a turf field? North Penn would be a better site, but they don't have a turf field

Yes, they want turf only. I don't think many schools in D1 want the hassle of hosting the game. The two best turf facilities for a big game are Downingtown and Coatesville, but their location out in Chester County is not ideal. At least Souderton is better than P-W. I like Quakertown, great setting right in town. They probably don't want the game either.

D1T, really no parking tips. Souderton kind of sits in the middle of nowhere. Not many alternatives other than pulling in the school. Parking was OK there in the past when attending the D1 championship. Here's an aerial shot of the facility.

The small lot past the tennis courts is usually wide open. I don't think most people know it's there. The downside, and it's a big one, is you can sit for quite a while trying to get out. There is an entrance behind the school, but the gate isn't always open. It's a little longer walk to the stadium entrance, but getting out will be much easier.

Coatesville is a nice facility EXCEPT you need binoculars to watch the game there. The stands are so far from the field, it is almost ridiculous.

Made the trip up to Souderton in 2013 and 2014 for the District 1 Finals. I didn't have a dog in the fight so obviously went to the home side and had plenty of options for seating. The back side is the place to park. Both times the back gate was open and had a fairly easy time exiting. Stayed till the end in 2014, but did leave early due to score in 2013. All the way around the back is the way to go.

Avoid Franconia Heritage Restaurant at all costs...just didn't sit well.

Cheers,

Busch

True about the stands. That's why I like Downingtown and Quakertown. There is no track and the stands are right on the field.

Suspenders is a good local dive bar located near the school, although one won't find a lot of craft beer on tap.
