Sounds like the SOL will only require 1 crossover game between the conferences starting next year, instead of the current two games. It was usually re-seeded every two years with the top teams in the National conference playing the top in the Continental. SOL teams now have two open weeks at the beginning of the year instead of just one, which to me is a net positive. Reduces the possibilities of District 1 playoff rematches. It gives 5A Upper Dublin a break from having to play some combination of CBW, CBS and North Penn in weeks 2 and 3.

Which teams do you think will be contenders in the SOL this year ??

Really interesting year coming up. I think the consensus is that North Penn comes in as the strong favorite, with their QB and RB returning along with a strong team otherwise. Pennridge and Neshaminy also bring back their QB and RBs. I think on paper Neshaminy should be near the top of the league and possibly contend for the title. East, West and South all need to find QBs. West has a stable of quality RBs this year that will need to replace Clemens' production. East has RB Mike Price who will probably average 30+ carries a game and to a great extent they'll go as far as he carries them. South will have a hard time replacing Pinkerton's production at QB and some of their talent up front. Could be one of those years where you have a bunch of teams crowded in the middle of the pack. I don't have a good feel for Pennsbury and Abington yet.
