Snyder out...

Coach turned out some nice squads during his 14 years at the helm and his 70% won-loss and two D1 championships over that period supports that observation. And he was very close to the big dawg in 2006 as the multi-OT loss against Liberty and Dan Persa in the 2006 Eastern Championship game, 45-38, proved their undoing -- and it was a heartbreaker too as it seemed the Birds were better positioned to take on the Panthers that year as that Hurricane group, albeit beat-up from the game with Fairless Hills, was dismantled by USC, 47-13.

Then at 6-8 overall against Neshaminy his teams were never taken lightly as they could bite you hard. As example, in 2013 the 'Skins motored through their first 14 games at 13-1 as they earned the D1 trophy. The one loss was delivered by the Falcons in the season-ender -- and it wasn't a cliffhanger with the Orange & Black delivering a 31-3 smackdown. Of course, St. Joe's ended the year for the Schmidtmen as they got Langhorne in the Eastern Championship, 37-21 (that was the "Fumble II" game with "Fumble I" the 23-21 loss to Pennsbury in 1972).

In any event, good luck to his son, Luke, who was quite a player for Pennsbury, and good luck to Coach too.

As long as the school board and Superintendent are Pennsbury football fans this is a very attractive job for an experienced coach. Should come with a teaching job with a salary near the top.
If that,s the case could;d draw candidates from outside the state.

The 2006 Liberty team had virtually no chance of winning the state title game after beating PSB because their 3 top OLineman (and two way players) got hurt and were out after the eastern final. Pennsbury indeed would have been better suited for that title game. Nonetheless, it was one of the best high school games I ever witnessed.

If Snyder had a vote I think he would recommend his DC (McShane) for that job. Don't count out Carey here because I think this situation would be right up his alley.

I would have thought Sanderson would replace Snyder two years ago, but not now. Will Pennsbury hire a coach not in building? I believe McShane feels it's his job, but doesn't he still teach at Bensalem?

Yes, he still teaches at Bensalem. If McShane is the choice, I would hope they offer him a teaching position at Pennsbury.
