McAndrew managed the game. Not too bad for a sophomore QB's first start. Missed a few more than you'd like to see (a couple of picks too).

And they did win but let's look to see improvement on an overall basis.

His inexperience led to some bad decisions/indecision, but he obviously has skills. He throws a nice ball.
Neshaminy had no ground game and struggled against the run on D.
Manzyk had a ton of tackles at ILB and made some plays on offense.
Punting game looks like a struggle again this year.
As I see the offense, running a pistol/spread, you need a pretty good back. One who can get loose on his own. The O Line are primarily pass blockers and do not see to get off the ball and up field like the ground and pound teams do, consequently, the back has to have some form of mojo, be it beast power, speed or shake and back quickness and moves to have success. Neshaminy's starter who backed up Dogba last year is more pedestrian than that, and appears to need holes to be opened to do any damage.
They ran starting cover corner Stills at tail back a few times to get some outside speed.
The Skins looked pretty shaky in this one, but the season is young.
I don't know what RC's coach is thinking. He is having great success running the ball, and suddenly he wants to throw it. Sure he has a QB with a nice arm and speed at the wideout spots, but Neshaminy showed a pretty good secondary. If Roman kept pounding the ball, they might have won. The other issue was the lack of discipline which cost them a ton in penalties.
Tough game next week with Tarburton and Pennridge at the Ridge.

From the Roman perspective some of those penalties were petty and or ridiculous. Roman has some young talent! 1, 10, 25 , 14 all sophomores!

Neshaminy website says they play Pennridge at home.

Some calls were questionable but I think we made some crucial mistakes at pivotal points. Fumbling on their 3, pick 6, and personal foul when they were punting that gave them the ball back (one of the questionable calls ). Young guys played ok. Burton is a stud. I would like to see better route combinations and personnel changes. Seen one slant , which I thought they gave up all day. Use the #9 in the slot and play #1 and #14 outside. Qb will get better as the season goes on.
Good game from 2 young squads.

Yeah, sorry, the Ridge is short for Heartbreak Ridge, Neshaminy's nickname for their home field Harry Frank's Stadium. The have a big sign that says The Ridge, right on the stadium fence as you enter. I understand how Pennridge probably calls themselves the Ridge, and maybe that is why they play the Skins so tough, they feel at home on Heartbreak Ridge.
