how are they doing

100 plus kids at practice, 20 plus coaches and consultants is all I'm hearing.

I hear the numbers are up closer to 160-including 9th graders-and they are considering a 2 platoon system like GVally. They did not look particualry good in a 7 on 7 with Ohara.

The transfer from West Catholic is there and practicing, the kid from Delaware is not ( im hearing he ends up at Concord High in DE). One potential surprising transfer is Dave Wood, Jr-the coaches son. He was a solid player last year at GV ( and a wrestler too). Not sure if he is actually on the team or just joining dad for workouts and if so its not like he will change the balance of power-but he will defintley help out.

I have seen Ohara and wasnt terribly impressed with them. Kind of surprised ridley didn't look good against them. Has Ridley ever gone with a two platoon system? Do they have the talent to do it this year? Not getting brightwell is a little disappointing, not sure where that rumor started- but he is a stud. The Central league is lucky to avoid that.

I'm assuming the Woods have a residence in Ridley School District? Just curious.

I don't recall there ever being a two platoon system. It's was always get your best guys on the field regardless of position. But it seems to work a bit for Garnet Valley( although I often wonder how good they really could be if they let the offense pay defense as well ). But I imagine there will be a lot if new things this year , like platooning , wishbone , etc.

I have no idea if they have a home in ridley. I know he lived and played at garnet valley last year. Maybe the central league is going to be like little league where the dad a,ways got his son on his team.
