You're right not_a_fan that recruiting issues are not a big deal in 3. Every now and then you hear something but anymore it's rare. Everyone is pretty much on board with it since you might know some of the guys going there. But during the year there is (was) extra incentive to beat the privates, show em up. Bottom line, nice seeing locals win.
 
Thanks Stalk & I only commented on it b/c I have family in both the Mechanicsburg and Pittsburgh areas, but live in ChesCo. The thought process in the other parts of the state is that if you have a great program, then the players who grow up playing in the public school system will stay there & play together in HS.

The biggest reason I think programs in D1 are not able to challenge the PCL schools is that in Southeast PA so many talented kids specialize in lacrosse, soccer or baseball that they stop playing football. Even the big schools can't makeup for that difference in most years. I know plenty of schools that would be very good in football if their athletes were the old school, three sport kids instead of specializing in one.
