What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“It’s not easy getting workouts in nowadays, but I’ve been going to the fields near my house and working speed and conditioning. I’m very fortunate that my uncle has a bunch of weightlifting equipment in his garage, so I’ve been able to continue to gain strength.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I have gained about 30 pounds, so I’ve become bigger and stronger. On top of that, I’ve managed to become faster than I was before gaining the weight.”
What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“I want to become faster and more explosive as well as continuing to gain muscle and weight. I think if I’m 270, and still fast enough to blow right by O-lineman or still fast enough to pull from the offensive guard position, I’ll be unstoppable.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I think my team will do amazing. We have a ton of super talented guys graduating this year, and we’ll definitely miss them, but I love the guys we have. 10-0 is the goal every year and I think with the guys we have we can accomplish that goal. Everyone is working super hard to get workouts in, even if it’s a little tricky. We all check up on each other daily and we all communicate in a big group chat.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The Interac is always stacked with great teams and a ton of talent, and Malvern is usually one of the best teams in the league. I’m really looking forward to that game. Germantown Academy also has a ton of talent this year, so I’m also excited about playing them. Our schedule this year also features a tough out of league schedule, so I’m really looking forward to going against the reigning public league champs, MLK.
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“I’m really looking forward to lining up against Matthew Pajuste from MLK. He’s super talented and he has been getting some serious offers lately. We play MLK for our first game of the season. I think it’s going to be a great matchup and I can’t wait to line up against my friend Matthew. We finish our season with a game against Malvern, which I’m hoping is going to be for the Interac championship. Coltin Deery is also super talented, so I’m looking forward to lining up against him in a big time match up.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one
“I love the game of football and definitely want to play in college. I’ve been dreaming of playing college football since I started playing at 5 years old. Hopefully soon my dream becomes a reality.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’ve been getting recruited by pretty much all of the Ivy League and Patriot League schools as well schools in the CAA and Northeast FCS division. I’ve been getting recruited primarily by schools at the D-1 level.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I’ve been talking a lot with Columbia, Penn, and Brown. There has also been Lehigh, which is a school I’m very interested in. I love the combination of high-quality academics and division one football. I’ve also been talking a lot with Bryant, who is another one of my favorites.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I was able to get up to Harvard for a game day visit, which was awesome. I’ve also been to Penn twice, once for a game day visit and another time for a junior day. I’ve also been able to attend Junior days at Buffalo, Brown, and Lafayette.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I had a bunch of other visits scheduled, but all of them had to be canceled due to Covid-19. I had to cancel about eight other visits I was scheduled for.”
What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“I’ll probably do a bunch of camps this summer, but I’m still waiting to see which schools are really interested in me before I schedule any.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite school growing up was Penn State. I’ve always been a fan of the Nittany Lions. It’s a little far from Philly, but It’s definitely my home-town team. I love their uniforms, and I don’t think there is anything in football like a white-out game at Penn State. I was also invited to their camps this summer.”
