What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“My off-season workout regimen as of late consists of 3 days per week of strength training/lifting, 1 day per week of speed and agility training, and 1 day per week of positional training.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“Without question, the biggest improvement for me since last season has been my size and strength. I’ve gone from 6’6 227 lbs to 6’8 293 lbs and have achieved massive gains in the weight room.”

What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“The one thing I will be trying to improve on the most before football season begins is my technique/positional skills.”

How has Covid-19 factored into your workouts?
“While COVID-19 affected a lot of athletes’ workouts, I was able to take advantage of the situation of not being in school and train even harder with the extra time I had available.”

How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I feel that South Fayette has the potential to be one of the best teams we’ve ever had this season and look for us to do great things.”

Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our schedule will definitely be more difficult this year given the fact that we’re now in 5A. Thomas Jefferson and Upper St. Clair are always tough competitors, but if I had to pick the 1 team that I think will be our toughest opponent this year, I would say it’s Peters Township.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“In my opinion, Nahki Johnson from West Mifflin will be the toughest individual player we will face this season. He is a very talented D-End with a lot of speed and is one of the best players in the WPIAL.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I have a strong desire to play football in college.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I am being recruited by a wide variety of schools from P5 to D2. Some of the programs include Penn State, Pitt, Maryland, Rutgers, Purdue, Temple, Miami of Ohio, Villanova and Notre Dame College to name a few.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“Yes, I was able to visit Penn State and Pitt for game day visits last fall and was able to attend Junior Days at Miami of Ohio and West Virginia University back in January. Unfortunately, the spring practice visits I had scheduled to Purdue, James Madison, Akron, Villanova and others were all cancelled due to COVID-19.”

Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“Given that the NCAA has extended the Dead Period for D1 programs until July 31, I won’t be able to make any more visits to D1 colleges until at least August 1. That said, D2 schools are in a Quiet Period and I will be trying to take advantage of visiting some of those programs.”

What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“Unfortunately, most camps have already been canceled for the summer. However, I was recently notified of a camp specifically for lineman that is planning to be held in July that I may attend.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was West Virginia University. My sister will be a sophomore at WVU this fall and was in the marching band last year, which was fun to watch her perform at the WVU football games.”
