How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall, this season was definitely one to remember. We set high goals for ourselves after last year’s success and District Championship. While we didn’t make it as far as we’d have liked, we definitely had a hell of a ride. We achieved some things that no team had done before in program history, such as beating Central Dauphin on their home field. As a team, we can’t wait to get back out there next year and keep pushing new boundaries. We’re never satisfied.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“As soon as the season was over, we were back in the weight room. We’re always working hard to get bigger, faster, and stronger. I know the only way we can achieve all that we want next year is through hard work, and our team is already back to work for next season. Personally, my brother and I are practically living in the weight room. We’re always pushing each other to get better. I’m just looking to gain some weight and get bigger and faster for next year. I also play baseball in the spring, so I start training for that around this time.”
What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“The number one thing is to just get bigger and faster. Obviously, your physical attributes can only get you so far in football so I’m always trying to learn new things and I’m always watching film and games on TV. As a player, I want to just improve on how I attack, take on blocks, and just how I approach the game mentally.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to play with a team than I am for this upcoming season. We’re never satisfied and we’re always looking to improve. We think next year will definitely be proof of that. We didn’t lose much on the defensive side and we hungry for next season. District gold is always on our mind and I think next year we can achieve all that and more. I have a ton of trust in my teammates and coaches and I believe next season will definitely be one to remember.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“I think we’ve had a good group of teams give us good competition over the past few years, especially teams like Wilson and Central Dauphin. We’ve had a lot of success against CD the past two years but losing to them this year in the playoffs still sticks with me. I think that will definitely be a game to watch next year. Obviously, Wilson is always a good team year in and year out, and I think next year won’t be an exception. It’s always a dog fight with them. Warwick had a great season as well this year and they played a tough game against us. I’m looking forward to another battle with them next year as well.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I play football and baseball right now, but football has definitely always had that special place in my heart. I would love to be able to play football at the next level, just like my older brothers.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’m just coming off of my junior year so recruiting is just starting to pick up and kind of start for me. As of now, I haven’t really been talking to any specific schools.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“None yet.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up, I’ve always been a diehard Pittsburgh fan. I’ve always rooted for Pitt.”
