What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I have been working as hard as I can with getting stronger at my house with the equipment that I have to work with. I have been lucky enough that our field at Leechburg has been open, so I have spent a lot of time there trying to get faster and stay in shape and throwing to my teammate.”
What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“I am trying to improve my understanding of our new playbook and just build a relationship with our new coach, Randy Walters, so that when we are able to get on the field I know where all my teammates need to be on every play.”
How has Covid-19 factored into your workouts?
“It has definitely been a struggle because I haven’t been able to be with my teammates and we have not been able to be in the weight room together. We are just trying our best to stay in shape and communicate with each other as much as possible.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I am very excited about this year and a lot of my teammates are as well. We are excited for the opportunity to learn a new offense and have to compete for every position. We have a lot of talent and big play ability on offense and I don’t feel like a lot of people talk about us compared to some of the other teams in our conference. There’s definitely a chip on our shoulder going into the season.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Clairton and Jeanette are always very tough. They have speed all over the field and they are tough to match up with, but we are definitely looking forward to those games along with a rematch against Greensburg Central Catholic who beat us in triple overtime by one point.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“Our conference is full of very tough players, but one guy who I have a ton of respect for is Isaiah Berry from Clairton. He had a great season last year and he will be tough to stop this year.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I want to play football very badly in college and that is my motivation every time I am on the field, in the weight room, or watching film.”
What colleges have been recruiting you
“I have gotten a few looks from multiple Division 3 schools, but my ability to meet some of the coaches and attend the couple of camps I planned on attending this summer has been restricted obviously with the current state of the world.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any trips to colleges mainly because of the inability to do so during the virus.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“Any trips that I had planned have been canceled and currently I am just doing everything in my power to make sure I will get to make them up when we are allowed to.”
What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“I had planned to attend a few camps, but they have been postponed or canceled. I was most specifically looking forwards to the Top 200 Football Showcase at Allegheny College because there was going to be scouts from multiple schools I have heavy interest in and I was confident in my ability to impress them with my arm.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Michigan State has always been my favorite college for football and basketball.”
